Bronco
Yup, it'll be toned down a bit I'm sure. Probably different engine.
It'll be competing with the Scions and Honda Elements. Both cars that made it through the Concept phase to production fairly untouched -- at least as far as concepts go.

The Bronco would do well in the youth market, as well as the older generations who remember the original Broncos. It's much better looking and more versatile than an Element or Scion xB, and has a history behind it.
I hadn't seen they discontinued the 2 door explorer. They needed too. They have the SporTrac already. The two door explorer hasn't been freshed in any significant way since the Explorer was freshened back in 97 or 98. It needed to be dumped a bit ago, IMO.
I have wondered something..... If they choose to build one as a hybrid, Wouldent a deisel hybrid be better as opposed to a gasoline hybrid? A small deisel engine would produce more torque than a similar size gas engine, and use less gas doing it. Am I off base here?
The idea may make it to reality yet. My buddy found a deisel motor that may fit, but some major engineering will be needed. I will need to come up with something interesting for the primary drive, and the frame mounts should be fun.
Oh yeah! the bronco. I like it too.

The bronco at the auto show circuit was simply breathtaking. As for making it a hybrid...
I'd rather see it run on diesel than a hybrid. Call me a low tech redneck, but I'm not going to buy an electric car because I couldn't fix it if something went wrong, and I lack the time and inclination to learn how to work on an electric car. Plus, the Bronco brings to mind thoughs of torque and ruggedness... not a fuel 'efficient' hybrid. If I wanted efficiency, I wouldn't be a ford man, simple enough. I don't mind bellying up to the bar and paying for gas; it's one of the sacrifices I make in the name of my taste in automobiles. I'd ride a bike before I let go of my V8's.

What about the 6cyl cummins is working on for ford light duty trucks? I think that would be a good idea, don't know if it will happen though. Doesn't it still need a platform to go on? My vote is still to share with defender 90, land rover buyers won't know if nobody tells them.
