Screw that, same HP Boss with better shocks, springs, tires, would do it. If they could make a square setup Boss with some actual Ultra HiPo tires would be awesome. Or don't make a Boss but make a new legacy.

I like the way you think! Personally...I have a feeling the guys at Ford are / were aware of the new Z 28. Now...we just have to wait for their response. The new 2015 platform sounds like it could have real potential for that "Special" response.

What took them so long? Sounds like everything they did was Boss+1. I hope it isn't $65k though. As they say, imitation+ is the best form of flattery.
I knew when I bought my 12 Boss that there would be faster, better handling etc. but it was the car that I wanted as a long-term buy and hold....not for investment but because I love it.

Yeah, I bought the Boss because I loved the color, GHIG, like the history and wanted something that was limited edition. The Boss has two things I wish could be corrected. I hate first gear, 25 mph at 5k rpm's is lame. I also do not like the lock out in the shifter from third to fourth. I kinda wish there was a nav system, but all my other nit picks have easy fixes. I really hope Ford comes out with a fix for the shifter, if not, this will be my last Ford. On a car like this, the tranny should be just as good as the engine. I plan on keeping my Boss for awhile....

Just looked it up. The back looks like a Honda Prelude. Give it 1000 HP and let it pull 2.0 g. It's ugly for my taste. The Chevy Bowtie cheapens the look. I'd rather drive German for how close this thing is getting to an M3 or Porsche in price.
And hold on a sec... Shouldn't the Z28 have a 302 in it?

It looks like chevy is building a boss killer. If you read the specs its just a little bit better all around but its also going to be a little more money. Ok its going to be a lot more money. It almost sounds like GM bought a boss and took it apart to fix its shortcomings.(six piston brembos, tremec). It depends on what the final msrp is on weather they can sell them.

Man, that thing is going to be a monster. No way I could afford one but if I could........ Other than the nightmarish interior you gotta love the big inch small block. Gm just always seems to have these big inch motors they can pluck from. I honestly think this car will be scary good and make the ZL1 obsolete.

"the new Camaro Z/28 is not intended to compete in a specific race series, it is solely focused on track capability."
I guess that says all that needs to be said, as far as I'm concerned.

Naw, the ZL1 is to Z/28 as the GT500 is to Boss 302. The ZL1 is GMs loaded boulevard cruiser. Then there is the price and content difference, with the ZL1 you get all the bells and whistles (well except for the CC brakes which might show up as a very expensive option for the ZL1, nor the dry sump oiling and extra cubes which in the form of the LS7 aren't blower friendly when it comes to OE reliability) with the Z/28 being a stripped down more narrowly focused car that is much more expensive and by dint of its price probably much more exclusive.
I'm sure there are quite a few well heeled Camaro fans who don't have a problem with the supposed price of 60-70k but not enough to kill the ZL1. Also I don't think anybody has mentioned GMs plans with the car? This could be their KR so to speak and produced in very limited quantities. If the last bit is the case, watch the Z/28s get snapped up by collectors and hoarded until their great great grand children can sell them to a bunch of drunks at Barrett-Jackson or the like.
Personally, I'd have preferred the LS7 in the 1LE and call it a Z/28 which I think would have been closer to the spirit of the original in much the same way the current Boss is closer to its roots but I know my brand-x buddies have lofty expectations for the Z/28 name. To a Camaro fan, the Z/28 is the highest performing factory Camaro bar none.

I agree. I love my Boss. Briefly looked over the ZL1 and 1LE but didn't feel the pull of those cars. This takes the Boss philosophy and turns it up a few notches. Great car GM. Just remember to thank Ford for the inspiration (again).

impressive specs and exterior (for the most part)....
....now for the most, that front splitter protrudes out way too far for my taste and the god awful execution of the tail lights! yes i realize it is suppose to be reminiscent of the '67 tail lights, but imo it was poorly executed and pre-face lift it had the semi roundels, not sure why they had to lose the "signature" look and go with these.
what is up with GM flubbing the C7 and now the 'maro tail lights!?!

Man. Chevy must have really been scared when they saw that TT 5.0 Cobra Jet concept for them to go and stick the biggest production engine they make in a camaro.

I am surprised that Chevy will beat Ford to the market with a large displacement naturally aspirated engine with a dry sump oiling system. The muscle car battle is getting serious now. Dodge SRT is offering stripped down versions of the SRT performance cars. Now, we need Ford to punch out the 6.2 liter Raptor engine to 7.5 liters and cast the engine from aluminum and put a dry sump on it and stuff it in the Mustang by the end of Summer.

Chevy's Boss the new Z28???
Seems to have the same spirit as the Boss, just a bit fatter and more expensive. Z06 motor, with bigger rad, and a splitter.
all for $60K
will they sell?
