I was curious if anyone has been watching any of this. I was interested in seeing what the collector car market would be like since the economy is in the toilet. So far it appears that there is still plenty of money available for these rare collectible cars.

Rich, I had the thrill of attending the Scottsdale B-J Auction in January (my friend sold a car there Saturday Night), and I can tell you, seeing the prices at that event (and they were DOWN to say the least), watching the prices tonight and its SCARY LOW!!!
I can tell you, the few cars I'll highlight right now were downright STEALS OF A LIFETIME!!! The buyers should be arrested for stealing the cars for those prices, lol.
The Jaguar XJ220 (blue, 1 of 281). That was a car that usually sells in the $200,000 area pretty consistantly. At Arizona, I saw 2 go over the block with the nicer of the two, getting $242,000 for one, a high number, from what I have seen these go for. Now, tonight, the blue one, did only $137,000 !! This was dirt-a$$ cheap!! For a car that was never sold here, and has all DOT paperwork filled out for smog and all, what a steal!
Saleen S7 Twin Turbo in Lizstick Red. Another exotic that failed to stay up in its normal selling area. Only did $230,000 and that was VERY reasonable for a TT car!! Yeah, the mile was high at 9,000, but still, a steal for that kind of car. Usually see them in DuPont Registry around $400,000 at minimum!!!
1968 Shelby GT500 Acypulco Blue/White stripes, full restore. Now, this was bread/butter money car a year ago! Constantly a $200,000+ car ALL DAY LONG! NOT ANYMORE!! Not in this market and economic times! Car only pulled $140,000 and IT WAS a big-block car!! GREAT BUY!!
1969 Boss 429 in Black Jade! 1st thing, the color. Black Jade is RARE! And its a pretty color!!! These cars are the bad-boy of Factory Mustangs! This car 2 years ago, was a $300,000-$400,000 car. Last year, they still reached over $300,000, with a fair example getting $250,000. Today, the Black Jade (which the car was SPOT ON!!), only pulled $195,000 and a Grabber Blue car, just as nice, only did $187,000!!!
Having been at the Arizona auction and seeing how the stock market, which lost 500 points over a few month span heading into the January event, we can see how the Market losing 25% did to these prices! Three words come to mind, SCARY ******* LOW!!! The sellers here have got to be having heart attacks with the low prices!!! I guess cars weren't the investment people thought they were in the past!!!

I was flipping through the channels and came across this. I really really wish I had won the lottery previous to this, because I wanted to buy so many cars.
The Viper Venom looked like a steal. 150k retail for the car, before mods, and it only went for like 100k. They said its in the Neiman Markus catalog this year. Whats it selling for in that?

Still, it makes one wonder how long dealers will be able to continue charging idiotic ADMs for Shelbys, Challengers and new Camaros. They'll try for a while, I've little doubt, but I think the lineup of "early adopters" is going to be much, much shorter from here on in.

I watched all night one night. There was one particularly awesome black '67 Mach I believe it was that had a totally done Ford SOHC "cammer" from back in the day in it. That thing was so awesome, I about had a heart attack. It was by far my fav car that night.
