Javelins were good, but they only managed to win after GM and Ford stopped racing in Trans Am.

AMC won three times in 1970 and Donohue lost the Driver's Championship by 1pt to Parnelli . . . . Ford, GM, and Dodge were still involved in 1970.

I always though Penske was racing Camaros in '70 and that he switched to Javelins in '71. I guess I was wrong.

Thanks Doug--took me a while to find this one as I've been away for a bit.
Looks like Peter Revson's 1968 Trans Am racer (or clone of it).
That was the year AMC used a flat hood on the Javelin.
George Follmer finished second in the Driver's Championship driving the # 4 Javelin.
AMC finshed 3rd in the mfg points behind Chevy and Ford.
