Yeah thats cool, except the feds will have to pick up about a 200 billion dollar tab from GM (benefits IIRC) alone, 3 million people will be out of a job, and the loss of a major technology watershed (nobody generates more patents in the US than the domestic auto industry). Even better, the guys with the money right now (China & India) will be able to swoop right in and pick up the pieces at fire sale prices if they choose to do so.

I'm not big on government intervention either, but I'd rather not see 3 million people in the crap house
