I read about that last night, it looks pretty cool.... I wonder if that engine would fit in a F250?

Heard the fumes/exhaust is pretty bad. Reports of drivers following during testing becoming nauseous and sick.

Like the article said, I think of diesels as slow, noisy, and smelly. Maybe Audi can do something to change my mind, but I doubt it. But anything is possible.

Don't you just love that sound of diesel on F-Series ...

No. Until someone makes a quiet diesel that doesn't smell bad, I'll never buy one except in a boat.

I don't like the smell either, but I love that sound.

Sounds like a great race strategy

Is the diesel fuel the same kind they get from the pump? Asking only because of the comments about fumes/exhaust being noxious. Maybe they should try using biodiesel - imagine following a vehicle having exhaust that smells like french- err, "freedomfries" around a track!

Well have you ever owned one?
diesels make twice as much torque as they make horsepower, and they are capable of getting better gas mileage than gas engines. and they do not smell at all unless you go up and stick your nose right in the exhaust pipe(i think they smell good). Im not bashing on gas engines but i think diesels are much better.
Our 7.3 Powerstroke makes 390 HP and 850LbFt of torque while getting 18 Mpg and 21 Mpg on the freeway
They sound GREAT too, i havent met anybody who dosent like the way my truck sounds
