Cool! A perfect Italianate counterpart to the Mini.

Presuming it only replicates the traditional Alfa Latin style and verve, but not reliability, this would be a great addition to the American market. Boy, talk about a model spread though if AR does come Stateside with the little Mi at the bottom and the stunning 8C way on up in the stratosphere.

Seems there are more and more players in the subcompact market that are moving well away from being merely dray econoboxes. This, the Mini of course, plus the upcoming Fiesta and possibly Fiat 500 .. oh, and the Smart car ... a slew of actually stylish and interesting little runners for fetching the milk and eggs.

A trip to Germany afforded me the opportunity to drive an Alfa Romeo 156 around for a few weeks. Man, that was a FUN car to drive!!!

A good reminder that it's not all about how fast a car goes, but how a car goes fast.
