Transmission is the only thing worrying me.. when the car is cold it don't want to shift.... Once its warm it shift ok. But lags between shifts.. shifts nice and firm though.

How many miles?
When is the last time it had a timing belt put in it?
I always put a new one in about 80000-100000. Saved me a head more then once I'd say

It depends how well you take care of them. I've seen newer Hondas having issues under 50,000 miles (mostly automatic transmissions on Accords).

Tranny is kinda acting up. But I was told it was because the speed sensor is bad. So it acts like it don't want to shift. But it will shift through all the gears and it shifts real firm. But the s3 light flashes... Don't know what it means. Was told it ment the speed sensor was bad.

I don't think Hondas/Acuras had any major transmission issues until 1998.

I would take the Prelude to the mechanic to check everything.

Lol I am the mechanic I just am not too familiar with hondas and how their transmissions are controled. I know the tranny is ok. Might have a 3rd gear shift soleniod going out. But nothing I can't handle

You are probably the first person to have "89 Honda Prelude sI" on their wedding registry gift list
