No not really a fully optioned out SLP car could be had with a little more hp than a comparable Z or SS just based on the fact that you could get the "lid", CME and a few other select options that did make a little difference on the LS1 cars only problem was the extra weight all the SLP options added. But that was through SLP not GM. And The LT4 powered cars made a huge difference in performance. An LT4 powered Fbody would hang if not beat an LS1. Problem was the money went to SLP for those. Your standard lot Z28, SS, Formula, and WS6 were pretty much the same. But the ones fully loaded up through SLP had just a tad bit more. All that stuff still added more collectability and probably 5-10 RWHP much like the Bullet. Not worth it to alot of enthusiasts given the same lid we could buy for 100 and a standard catback was much cheaper than the CME's.
