Yep this is the 10-Spd auto that Ford and GM have been working on together for a few years.

Don't forget,........"estimated horsepower".
So, I'm guessing this ZL1 has more than 640 HP. More like 650-670 HP in my opinion. Yes,....more power than the Z06. That's just my guess. And from a reliable source. LOL

I wouldn't doubt it, the bog standard SS seems to be under-rated by about 30 horsepower if the reports are to be believed.

GM has Ford by the short hairs and they know it and they are really putting on a **** good show as good as the current Mustang is (and its really good, minor quibbles over suspension tuning aside) this is a repeat of the early SN95 years when the LT1 and later LS1 debuted. Ford doesn't have to worry about the Mustang wing nuts they wont go anywhere but the fence sitters are the problem, they will always chase after the car with the best bench racing record.

Its a tough spot to be in, a little over a liter down on displacement and in order to gain parity Ford would have to step on the GT350's toes (the flat plane engine could remain exclusive since a cross plane 5.2 would do the job well) with a GT being about 90% GT350 or I suppose just throw the doors wide open on the GT350 and eliminate allocation numbers and just tell the dealers that they will build as many GT350's as they can sell eliminating any real exclusivity... or.... have a GT350 in sheep's clothing and offer a GT with the GT350 powertrain and suspension and whatever bits would bolt up (frankly all non-starters and if sales don't tank in the face of the Camaro its going to be a long four or five years until the replacement shows up).

Absolutely Bob.
I had a LS1 Hugger Orange/white leather SS. I was top dog for a while. No one wanted to go at red lights, and if they did, they got beat. lol That car was fast for it's time.

I don't like the rear spoiler much though. I wish it came with a ducktail spoiler like the 2017 1LE. Also, I just confirmed that the center part on the hood, is going to be an option for carbon fiber.
I really hope they don't make this in Hugger Orange. I would LOVE it!! I had a Camaro SS in Hugger Orange with white leather interior. I used to get thumbs up and looks all the time.
Maybe because I'm handsome too? lol

Glad they changed the lower front grill, it looks a whole lot better. GM is really stepping up their game, Ford needs to bring on the next GT500. I already have a feeling the new SS 1LE will be able to beat the regular GT 350 around a track.

If not, the 6th generation Z28 will be able to.
I'm sure Ford is going to up the ante!

Well, I meant it it looks better as an improvement over the ugly big grill and side vents of the regular new Camaros.

I actually do like the spoiler. Maybe because I'm from the 70s 80's generation, but that type of spoiler is my favorite. I actually put that type of spoiler on some of my cars back in the day. Reminds me of the Hurst/Olds and 442 type of spoiler from '84-87.

That's the only thing I don't like about the car,....at the moment anyways. lol
The door panels seem to be really high as well, but this is the best looking Camaro to date, besides the first and early second generations. This car is going to put a hurting on a lot of cars out there. I'm calling it again,.....more than 650 HP and about 650 lbs. of torque. Lighter than previous generations as well. Car is going to be FAST! Did you hear the whine coming from this car yet Lee? It's pretty nasty as is the exhaust roar.
