I feel like using a nameplate like that and not going with a retro design is a mistake. There is no reason they couldn't call that something else that doesn't tie in with a car it has no similarities to.

People are expecting this when you say "Barracuda", not Fiat based car.

You guys are completely blinded by the challenger based cuda of the early 70's. Don't forget the evolution of the cuda. From what the nameplate was on before, they can stick cuda on any body.

Thanks Al.......that tail light treatment was lost on me. Being a Brit, I obviously need to brush up on my old muscle car history
I love what they've done with the grille treatment, though.....very slick. Overall, I think that design's a stunner and I'd happily drive a 6.4 SRT version!
As for the name..........well, the heritage means they'll have a certain number of buyers locked in, just on that. The rest will buy it because it's gorgeous.
Interesting that nobody is offended that it's not badged as a Plymouth. I think Mother Mopar had been pretty clever in introducing SRT as a brand, so such a car doesn't need to run with a Dodge badge.
Hmmmmm......how about Ford making SVT a brand? SVT Mustang Cobras.....SVT Cougar......SVT Cylone?

And that Alfa you've posted is a small, mid-engined 2-seater. Can't see it being based on that. Not unless it's a very flexible platform.
