2015 SRT Barracuda

Be interesting to see what this ends up looking like. Here's a rendering for starters. If retro's dead, this isn't a bad alternative

That's gorgeous, but I don't think that's what we'll see. Most info I've seen has the body style looking more like the '70 model, but smaller than the current Challenger.

I could see it going either way since Mustang is moving past retro. But I think the die hard Dodge/Plymouth guys would be disappointed if a Cuda isn't retro like the Chally - for the first few years anyway.

Rear end is too much Ford Taurus.

I feel like using a nameplate like that and not going with a retro design is a mistake. There is no reason they couldn't call that something else that doesn't tie in with a car it has no similarities to.

My feelings exactly. If Ford ditches retro they could do well with something that at least resembles a cuda.

As a Barracuda that does not work at all.

+1.

People are expecting this when you say "Barracuda", not Fiat based car.

You guys are completely blinded by the challenger based cuda of the early 70's. Don't forget the evolution of the cuda. From what the nameplate was on before, they can stick cuda on any body.

And there's a little retro in there. Just a little.

Thanks Al.......that tail light treatment was lost on me. Being a Brit, I obviously need to brush up on my old muscle car history

I love what they've done with the grille treatment, though.....very slick. Overall, I think that design's a stunner and I'd happily drive a 6.4 SRT version!

As for the name..........well, the heritage means they'll have a certain number of buyers locked in, just on that. The rest will buy it because it's gorgeous.

Interesting that nobody is offended that it's not badged as a Plymouth. I think Mother Mopar had been pretty clever in introducing SRT as a brand, so such a car doesn't need to run with a Dodge badge.

Hmmmmm......how about Ford making SVT a brand? SVT Mustang Cobras.....SVT Cougar......SVT Cylone?

How would that be possible? Plymouth was discontinued back in 2001 ...

I know, but I thought there may be Plymouth fans that wouldn't want the Barracuda name on anything but a Plymouth.

And that Alfa you've posted is a small, mid-engined 2-seater. Can't see it being based on that. Not unless it's a very flexible platform.
