2015 Corvette Z06

It's not necessary at this time I'm thinking. Ford had a short run with the GT. We will probably see another of that type one day. The corvette is just about reaching the exclusive category like the viper and the exotics. Don't think Ford could sustain that type of vehicle for a long run and make a profit from it. Really don't know how Chrysler and GM can do it.

I'd love to see Ford do some neo-Pantera sort of thing: mid-engine V8 sports car in the Vette price range. These halo cars are more about broad brand image enhancement than gigaprofits anyways - given the great performance of Fords bread and butter lines, perhaps they should treat themselves and their customers a bit of a treat.

Maybe talk to lamborghini to help get a lil but of italian finesse but keep it powered by the Coyote or next VooDoo engine due out
Keep it rear wheel, 6 speed manual (auto option w/paddle shifters), around 3200-3500 pounds, and boom we have the template for the next pantera lol

A couple of years ago, I read Ford spends more on research and development than any other auto company. I would think Ford could produce a 2 seat sports car that would showcase some of the high tech features they have developed. Ford should be able to write off a 2 seat sports car as part of their research and develop program. Some of the high tech features from the sports car could trickle down to the other Ford models.

Look at what Lexus did with the LFA. It was designed loss leader but was built to showcase what the company was capable of. If Ford could do something like that for a limited run. Then after that run finishes, build a new one based off what was so well accepted and make other changes to offer it for a more affordable price

That's what they did when they made the Ford GT. No reason to have a halo car like that every year as it losses it appeal as being something special.

All the pics and live reveal footage we have been seeing is the fully-optioned Z07 version... the standard Z06 does not have all the aggressive front aero components, rocker panels, and wicker-bill spoiler. I love the new gray color... at least it's still at least a year away from delivery so this gives me plenty of time to continue to enjoy my Z51. And yes, the new C7 Z06 is supposed to start not too far away from the base MSRP of the C6 Z06. Wow!

Yea but how long has it been? Theyre shooting for the global market now. The newest viperand corvette are both super performers. Especially the Z06 now. Even in racing the new SRT and C7.R are both fresh faces. And while the Ford gt is still up there and still looking beautiful, its time to release a whole new beast

It's like a men's razor
They just keep adding more gears and blades until you have like a dozen of them
Then the next thing you know your wife's borrowed it and used it god know where

This makes me want to sell the gt500 save and buy it in black. One amazing car! Rumor mill says the zr1 would probably be a hybrid. They are saying 80kish base z06. Uhh can you say performance bargain?!
#57
i highly doubt the zr1 will be a hybrid. Chevrolet says that they havent even planed on having a c7 zr1 yet although even if they were having one they would still say that they have no plans for it. GM is good about keeping things secret until they want it to be known. heck one of their test facilitys in Arizona is even a government no fly zone. if they do build a hybrid corvette i doubt it will take the zr1 name. the new hybrid technology would make the corvette extremely fast if they can come up with batterys light enough.

Hmmmm...... My gut feeling is closer to or over 100k since the C6 Z06 was 70-80 and the Carbon was over 100k.

they said if you can afford the c6 z06 then you can afford the c7 z06. the c6 one was like 77-78k base price and they are expecting the same for the base c7 z06. the base model c7 corvette does like 12.2 1/4 mile 100% stock i cant wait to see what the z06 will do. if im not mistaken the 2014 gt500 does like a 11.9 or so 100% stock although the gt500 will gain a ton more from slicks then the corvette would. but the base model corvette gets the same mpg as my 3.7 v6 mustang. 465ft/lb of torque, 12.2 1/4 mile and 29 mpg is crazy...
