I do. A 3 series BMW. I'd love to support the British car building industry, but I'm not going to commute 100 miles a day in either a Caterham or an Ariel Atom

A guy that works here has a Caterham. Such a cool ugly little car. Too bad the guy is a douchebag. Lol

While perhaps not as good looking as the late and lamented G8 -- a veritable working man's BMW E39 M5, which is high praise in my book -- it is still a good looking car. I'll assume it will get a bit tarted up in Chevy SS trim, though hopefully retaining its overall tastefully restrained yet athletic looks. I wonder, given the SS moniker, whether Chevy will basically only offer this in what was G8 GXP trim and tune, i.e., 400+hp V8, Brembo brakes, sport suspension, wriggly stick, mellifluous exhaust...?

As said though, that we're getting the option of a full sized, RWD V8 sedan, perhaps even with a stick shift again(!!!!), all on a great chassis, is itself something to rave about, especially those that need to haul family in addition to hauling azz all in one package.

I would hope this would spur on Ford to make a proper RWD V8 competitor to this and the C300/Charger, logically off the NextStang's chassis, but I'm not holding my breath too hard on that. Maybe as a Lincoln model, but that would likely be pretty upscale and pricey.

Why? It wasn't the Big Oil that told GM and Chrysler to build gas guzzlers and completely ignore economical cars ...

I don't think that's true. Trust me, I work for a Jewish company - there is not a single German car on the parking lot.

I wont buy german or japanese. I have no reason to buy them because ford is keeping me happy. I do have some moral views on the matter like Charlie and Al. I really have wanted a M3 for a while but MY money gets spent locally when ever I can. I am also sick of hearing how the korean auto makers and germans make car here in the US now... Thats only kind of true because in the end the money is shipped off to asia or Europe. Its like the illegals we have running around that people say "they pay taxes and pay back in" when they send more then 80% of the money back to mexico. They are a hole in the side of our ship(The USA) and even small hole sink great ships if left unattended.

I couldn't care less where the car is being made. I'm not gonna buy a lemon just because it's made in a specific location. If a car company doesn't care about me as a customer (by selling me a lemon), there is no way in hell I would give my hard earned money to that company.
By the way, this has nothing to do with a Ford, I'm talking about auto industry in general. I bought all my vehicles because I thought there were a good buy, not because they were built in a specific country.

I test drove one when they first came out ... I didn't find it to be that much fun. Interior was very small and engine felt really underpowered.

There aren't that many Chevys that I like, but the '69 Chevelle Yenko would be one of my dream cars.

I think it doesn't look that bad, in a late 90's/early 2000's kind of way. Waiting for Chevy to positively muck up the looks of this car with the "Camaro-inspired" taillights that have been infecting the rest of their models recently. Probably also throw in some unpainted vents ala ZL-1/C7.

Bull crap man! Americans were all about those big SUV's before it all went to hell. Gas prices damm near doubled overnight. People panicked and quit buying them for the most part. The big 3 were all geared up pushing big SUV's as much as possible. It killed the structure they were working on. The fuel economy regulations didn't really kick in till a couple years later. Big Oil caused the economy crash and the two bailouts and the government let it happen.
End of rant.
