What about a Lotus Exige S...not many creature comforts but very capable drivers car.
Or if you like the Aston Martins style I bet you could find a used late model Jaguar XKR in your price range, the latest body style looks pretty hot to me!

I would stay away from GT-R, they have pretty bad transmission issues.
I would personally go with the used Viper if you care only about performance.
Overall package ... Pontiac G8 GXP.

Vipers are hard for DD cars. No factory abs can definitely be a problem especially with other drivers on the roads. The g8 is a great car.
One thing you could never go wrong with, and im surprised it isnt on here already is a used 03-04 cobra! TONS of mod potential from the factory. An most will be under 25k even if they are mint condition. No real issues with them either, other than the fact that you may have women clamoring all over your car 
With the money you save buying a cobra you could make it completely your own and almost unbeatable in terms of performance
