When Soul first came out in 2009, I took it for a test drive. Although I loved the design, the engine was really noisy and underpowered and interior was very cheap.

Well, for 2012 it looks like Kia solved both of those problems.
New engines are 1.6L (138 hp) and 2.0L (164 hp). They are rated at 27/35 mpg. 6 speed manual or auto.
And the interior looks really nice on these pictures.

It will be one of my top picks when I decide to shop for a new car (I hope after new year).

Kia Really is knocking them out of the park in the styling deptment.

 

I give Kia all kinds of credit for making Sportage, Koup, and Optima look great but I'm just not feeling the Soul.
