The high-winding V10s will certainly be missed -- did lend them a bit more of and exotic air -- but the puffed up V8 should be a brute nonetheless, even if a bit more of a conventional approach to big power.

The styling certainly is much more cleaned up than the previous version, even being good looking as opposed to "interesting" or "challenging" (which struck me more as a sop to designer's conceit as opposed to actual good design).

Its size is reminding me of a 7 Series and i'm not really feeling those wheels. I absolutely love the high-revving V10 and hope to own here in two years or less so i'm biased. I do want to see what the V8 can do, and even more what it will sound like.

+1 on the wheels - looks like they did a mashup of two different designs.

V10 was great, but pretty much every supercharged/turbo V8 in that class was outrunning it.

Thank God the V10 is going by the wayside. The current gen M5 is the worst generation of M5 thus far.....this one appears a great deal more promising.

Nice, just what a BMW should be. Understated but classy. Best looking BMW since the E39
