Phew, there's a search function too.
H Uhhh, not neccessarily, a Well Euipped Auto GT or a Conv. Like mine is the Same Price as a Stripper SRT8. And their Very Very Close in Performance, and the fact that the SRT8 did a 1.820 60' on Street tires means that an Auto 5.0 will most likely Lose a 1/4 mile race as only the auto's with Converter or Blower cars are Launching that good....Better be at the TOP of your game if ya decide to run one...,
Uuummmmmmm...

Other than a set of stickier tires, this 5.0L is bone stock. 12.1@114 is pretty f'ing quick!

Challenger SRT8 is a vastly underappreciated car IMO. Pricing is between a well equipped GT or SS and a GT500 and I think the positioning of the car justifies that. If you actually want a muscle car, or put more simply if you think adults might be using your back seat on a semi-regular basis, Challenger offers surprisingly good accomodations in that regard. In fact, rear seat comfort is easily on par with my old Turbo Coupe if it isn't at the level of the later, MN12-based cars.
I'm genuinely surprised this car hasn't found more buyers and I am convinced marketing has absolutely stymied this car. This not a pony car by any sretch of the imagination, and as such direct comparisons to the Mustang and Camaro are stretching it a bit IMO.

I'm very much a Mustang guy myself, the pony is just more my style. Ultimately I don't think the Camaro or Challenger pose much threat to the Mustang in current guise, primarily because the Camaro is more like a smallish muscle car with ponycar room and the Challenger is a full on muscle car. (ie: one is mid size and the other is pushing it)That said, I'm more than a little surprised that so many choose the Camaro over the Challenger. Again, both are larger cars than the Mustang, but only the Charger gives you a significantly larger rear seat for that size increase. I had to talk my brother, who was convinced that the Camaro SS was the thing to have, into driving a Challenger RT and now he won't shut up about the Dodge. What did he like about it? Superior room and a comfy ride. I'm just surprised the Boomers in their 40's who are drooling over the Camaro aren't taking a closer look, I think they would like what they see.

I agree with everything you've said about the Challenger. While debating on our next purchase which will be my daily driver, I tend to lean towards the Challenger's exterior styling over both the Mustang (gasp!) and the Camaro. Even my wife says "the Challenger looks like a muscle car compared to the other two".... and she grew up driving Hondas and Toyotas, LOL.
Exterior styling plus usable interior (we have two pre-teens) along with good response on the current SRT8 by bolt on's and a cam make it even more viable IMO.

?
who isn't happy?
All I did was point out the SRTs don't compete w/ the GT. The way turbo wrote his post he made it sound like it was an accomplishment for the 392 to be faster than a 5.0. IMO the 392 would be a fail if it wasn't faster.
Its a good looking car

You're going to upset some people here Marz! lol
Seriously though guys, I have nothing against the 392. I can see why people drool over it. The performance doesn't impress me so much though
Take your crap elsewhere Jason.
We love Challengers here.
The Challenger certainly wins the Muscle car war. The car is gorgeous and I would love to own one. Just because it's a childhood icon of mine and just love the body lines. That said, I agree that if I had to take a Camaro or Challenger, I'd go Challenger, the Camaro doesn't offer enough performance for me to care about it over a more roomy and comfortable Challenger. Note the more badassness of the Challenger over the Camaro as well. All that said, the Challenger is technically the only Muscle Car on the market unless you consider the GT500 one. The reason I come to this is that the original's had the 428 engines, a muscle car engine, which is kind of what they are trying to do today with the blown 5.4. So I guess we could lump that one in there.
That being said, the Pony is an easy win by the Mustang.

top model vs top model.
Mustang v6 vs Challenger v6
Mustang GT vs Challenger R/T
Mustang GT500 vs Challenger SRT8
Makes perfect sense.

It looks nice and cool at Infineon, too, as shown in the Challenger video.
