For what its worth, the 3.7L will make 313 or more HP on 91 octane. Ford could easily take the title back by recertifying the engine. This is obviously a marketing move by GM and a good one. Most folks don't look beyond the numbers. I still expect the 2011 to out sale the Camaro by a good margin. The real test will come in 2012 when GM has to adjust and the Mustang has cooled off sales wise.

I disagree with both, but specifically the interior. That has to be one of the worst interiors off all time. none of the shapes or forms match, it looks cheap, it's busy in places, and stark empty in others. God it's bloody awful.

I'm sure we'll see more options for the 2012 Mustang that we're not seeing yet. I'm seriously hoping that Recaros make it to the mix, a new Track Pack for the 2012 GT, and maybe some revised interior colors/styles. If Ford can keep it fresh, they'll invite more owners over, and the 5.0 is a HUGE game changer for them. I don't see GM revising the LS motors, and Chrysler is still figuring out what to do with the Chally as well.

Bottom line, experienced car owners know that Hp and torque figures only mean so much. Gearing, power to weight ratios mean more.

Who said I didn't like it? I find it pretty amusing. It's pure comedy.

I'm with ya there. I was referring to the Camaro faithful.

I personally think the bulbous, in-your-face exterior styling of the Camaro has already gotten old (the novelty has worn off, IMO). I'm not even going to mention the interior...

The challengers interior is pure charger surplus. Hopefully it gets better with the 11' redesign.

As of right now the only real difference is that the SRT is supposed to get the 5.7L based 6.4L Hemi.

Estimates are putting it between 475 and 500 HP.

And the new Pentastar V6 is going into the base model with 280hp and better fuel economy than the current model. The 6.4 would finally slot the SRT closer to the GT500, but still has the weight holding it down quite a bit.

Like I said before, you could live with the Chally more every day than the Camaro. Roomier, comfort, and overall sound is better from it. I just wish that you didn't have to spend upwards of $38K for one with a decent options list. Even with my supplier discount, it still was nearly $38K without some of the high end options.

On the other side, the Camaro with the 2SS 6MT, RS package, and interior trim priced out around $36K. There's really nothing else I'd want in one. Even the interior trim package is a bit of a stretch. Figure that as a GT Premium with Brembo package.

The new charger R/T is supposed to have 400hp in the 5.7

How could they not put the same engine in the challenger

Thought they were gonna call it the Phoenix and it was gonna have 290hp, i know minor diffrences. But still wont keep up with the mustang and camaro as far as performance but a VAST improvement over the 250/250 they currently have.

It's changed names a few times. It's built in Trenton, MI, not too far from AAI. Phoenix/Pentastar are the same.

Camaro Rules! Ford did their best to match Chevy but the Camaro still wins!!! I'd never buy a Mustang!

If by "winning" you mean "coming in second"..then yes, the Camaro does win!!

But if you, like us, are in the real world, coming in first generally means you win.

Yes good job, lighter weight, equal power, and track pack work well together. My hat's off on this one.

SS didn't get touched this go around. Hopefully they'll drop weight rather than up power (what I told them anyway). Power's not the problem. Drop couple hundred pounds and the handling, speed, and MPG will go up and it's game on again. But since that is more expensive to use lighter materials than remap or slight cam revisions I don't know what's in store.

This is just like they keep repeating "The Camaro has outsold the Mustang!" leaving out that part about it outselling the Mustang during some MONTHS of the year, and the fact that Mustang outsold the Camaro for the entire YEAR in '09.
Well, to be fair what did stang fans say in 2000? It's the same in both camps. Always will be.

Also to be fair on the selling point the Mustang outsold the camaro overall 12 months vs 8 1/2 months. It's up to 12 months straight now that the Camaro outsold the Mustang (1 full year's worth, and yes I know it's a "transition" year for the Stang.

Agreed it's all a marketing ploy. Adds usually don't tout "fastest" it's usually more/most hp best mpg etc.
