Looks like GM is trying to fight back with the Camaro (Merged)
We're happy to bring you information on the new 2011 model year Camaro! Here are the highlights:
-- new HP rating of 312 horsepowers on the V6
-- Synergy Green will be offered on ALL models for a limited time
-- Heads-up-display (HUD) will be offered as standard equipment on the 2LT and 2SS models

well camaro5 is awful happy. i find it funny that they want a passenger power seat and less weight...u think they'd know that'd further increase the weight, which the camaro cant afford to gain anymore weight. makes me want to see what more they have in store for the SS, if anything. gotta love the competition...God Bless America
“The 304 horsepower in the 2010 Camaro was actually a conservative rating on our end,” said Tom Sutter, GM V-6 chief engineer. “But we knew already that this award-winning engine produced at least the amount of power we stated, but now we’ve gone the extra step in certifying the engine for this application and have verified an additional 8 horsepower.”
And its funny on C5..they are seriously batty thinking even if it was a real 8hp difference, that it would beat a V6 2011 with 3.31s.
At that weight, I highly doubt you'd even FEEL the difference with 8hp.

This is just laughable, a horsepower increase -- on PAPER !!! --no real changes at all to increase horsepower over the 2010 Camaro V6 -- GM's just changing the rating it so it has more horsepower. So it's the same V6 Camaro that the '11 V6 Mustang whipped recently in a road test, and will continue to whip despite the Camaro V6's paper horsepower increase.
No real surprise there, there's a pony car war going on after all. Dodge is working on a new V6 too, not sure too much about the details but, let me guess, it'll have more power than the current one.
Another oh so obvious prognostication, both the Dodge and Chevy V8s will have more power in '11 too, and probably firmed up / refined suspension tunes too.

This is just like they keep repeating "The Camaro has outsold the Mustang!"
leaving out that part about it outselling the Mustang during some MONTHS of the year, and the fact that Mustang outsold the Camaro for the entire YEAR in '09.
...And when the Mustang outsells the Camaro for 2010, they'll go back to the looks and hate on that. No matter what any auto news outlet says, they have to disagree, argue, or fight it like it's gospel. If you don't like it, don't read it. No one is putting a gun to your head.
I drove the Camaro 2SS/RS, Chally R/T, and 2010 GT with Track Pack on Tuesday. By far, the Mustang is the easiest to live with daily, on and off track. I'd take the Chally over it, because it's more practical and comfortable, even if the interior is 90's-grade Chrysler product and it's heavy.
