That sucks, SOOO BAD. After the commander died such a horrible death, I can't believe they'd stick with that look. I guess it's a minor miracle they didn't slap that front end on the Wrangler.

My parents have the origional Liberty, by far the best looking of the lot:

Not a fan of the headlamp treatment. Why not keep the Wrangler resemblance in the front?

Why do companies do this stuff? Are people in US car companies this determined to destroy their brand name? I bought my wife a Renegade. With the flat hood, it's by far the best front end on a Liberty. If they wanted a slight change up, they should've taken this look across the model line.

Never been a fan of the liberty. I do like the wrangler though!

I'm not a fan of ANYTHING Chrysler or its divisions are cranking out these days. The Challenger is the one exception, but of course, we haven't seen the production version yet.

I wonder if its interior will be clad with Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep's ubiquitous ugly, two-tone, squared-off plastic interior, too?

Not my cup of tea, but I love my SRT8 and would not be at all afraid to buy another Chrysler. Content wise the Liberty looks pretty good, and the interior looks fairly nice.

As an aside, I think their styling has fallen off since Tom Gale left. The 300, Magnum, and Chargers are nice, but aside from those and their trucks, and the Viper. I'm not a fan of their styling.

Looks like they stepped 10 years back on the design. I like the looks of the previous liberty much better. I had an 01 wrangler before my Mustang and I must say I loved everything about it except the 14mi/gal fuel I got. I had no quality issues what so ever. A friend of mine had a 2000 wrangler and had nothing but problems - little gremlin type problems (electrical issues and the doors not opening etc)

i didn't like the commander at all, happy to see it go. But somehow I kind of like this Liberty better than the old one. I liked the old one, it was a cool way to integrate the Wrangler face, but I think this is more interesting, less bulbous and more aggressive looking.
I really do like that flat hooded renegade though. Was that flat hood an option or did it come with all renegades? I'd never noticed it until you pointed it out.

The flat hood was only used on Renegades during certain later years, and one other 'specialty' model... I forget it's name.
Here's our smiling faces.

Those two compliment eachother reallyy well. Talk about two iconic American faces. I'm kinda jealous (coming from a proud Canadian, by the way.) That new Liberty definitely doesn't hold that kind of nostalgia, i'll give you that.

Thank you! (and yes that's another American Icon in the back - Harley Davidson)

Before the Mustang, I had 2 Jeep Wranglers. Well, I HAD to get the Mustang and couldn't afford both. So, to satisfy the lost love for my Jeep, I got my wife the Renegade.

Thanks again.
