I was pleasantly surprised that the Lucerne is a nice looking car:

(The rear view is reminiscent of the last generation Acura TL)

This Autoweek review gives it good marks. If GM can address it's overlapping model lines, bloated management and produce more cars like this, they could very well turn things around. We'll see!

On first glance, my only complaints are that they're still putting in the old 3.8L pushrod V6 as the base engine (it does the job well but it's time to move on already!) and it has a 4 speed auto. I think GM needs to start putting in 5- or 6-speed autos. After all, the 6-speed that's in the Fusion was jointly developed with GM so it's not like they don't have one in the parts bin.

I'm certainly not a fan of GM or Buick but that is definitely one of the best sedans I've seen come out of the General in some time.

One other thing I've decided I don't like: the little row of vents on front fender. I understand it's a tribute to "Buicks of yore" but it just seems out of place on such a sleak, modern looking sedan.

From the front wheel-well back this car looks sweet, but WTF is with the General and mixing styling schools of thought!

The front, namely the grille/headlights, is wayyy too bloated and rounded to go with the edgy creases of the rest of the car.

Look how massive and fat those two elements look!, GM should have made slimmed down the headlights and angled them up a few more inches on the hood crease. As far as the heritage/traditional grille is concerned, just get rid of it. Blobby ovals will never be cool again (were they cool then?)

Its sort of Subaru Legacy from the profile (which is good.)

If only the stupid grille and headlights were more agressive, this would be one incredible looking sedan.

This car is getting good reviews... I personally think they should have used a transmission with a few more cogs to get more positive press.
