If the Porsche Cayman weren't on that list, I'd swear that was for the 10 Most Appalling Vehicles.

And you're surprised...because...?

With the exception of the Nissan Armada and Scion tC - which both suck, IMHO - that's a pretty stellar list of vehicles. I don't think North American automakers make a single vehicle in any of those respective categories that can even compete. Caddy's gettin' closer, for sure, but they're not there quite yet.

If domestic automobiles were more appealing, Ford wouldn't have announced another 14,000 job cuts in North America yesterday. Sorry, but that's the plain truth of it.

That said, it looks like the Blue Oval is serious about its turn-around, and bringing the Euro platforms over here by 2010; introducing vehicles like the Edge and Fusion; and building SE Mustangs each year will all help a lot, I've no doubt. Ford should make every car it builds as appealing in its respective category as the Mustang is for ITS category.

I think the company may finally be heading in the right direction, but time is against them.

The list of cars given is about the most sporadic as it can possibly be! It makes you wonder who actually took the time to reply in this consumer report?

This thing is BS, it's a synthetic benchmark called "APEAL" based on answers to questions like "How many cupholders did your car have? Do people ignore your car because it is boring as hell? If so add 10 points."
