I'm excited to see what the new VQ37 will do for the Z car. I had an 04 350Z before my Mustang, and still miss that car from time to time. The 350Z has always been severely underrated by enthusiasts IMO. People always bag on it, and I think it's because of the plethora of middle-aged women tooling around in the automatic roadster versions everywhere. Driven properly, the Z has always been a contender.

And FWIW, even the change from the VQ35 to the VQ35HR (from the 06 to 07 model year in the 350Z) resulted in the Z trapping around 3-4 MPH faster in a bone stock car. Can't wait to see the VQ37. A little more displacement never hurt anybody

But here's the REAL question: If the Z was so great, why did you get rid of it in favor of a Stang?

If I had my choice, I wouldn't have. I let me friend borrow the Z for a weekend, and he totalled it.

I guess I have a weird thing about buying the same car twice, and have always loved the look and sound of the Mustang, so I went with it this time.

if ford did have 350 and the camaro has 400 i won't be much different then before.

2002 Mustang GT 260hp
2002 Camaro Z28 310hp

in fact it will actually be closer this time if you go percentage wise.
350hp wont cut it, even if the F5 is a 3900 lbs porker, Mustang will need 380 to 390hp to hang with the LS3 and its 435, assuming of coures there is a 400 lbs diference in weight. As it gets slimmer more HP is gonna be needed.

True, but the Mustang GT has never really "hung" with the Camaro / T/A. It's always been behind on HP, so I think a bump to somewhere around 350 is probably realistic thinking.

Interesting. Shorter overall length, shorter wheelbase, HOPEFULLY less weight, and 330 HP, with 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic expected. (For those who were trying to read the blurry text )
