No bites yet...

It would be hilarious if the Chevy dealers pulled a "GT500" and end up in a similar pickle.

Those things are going to bring crazy prices. Im happy with my LS3 which is basically the same motor as the LS9 minus the supercharger.

If a KR can bring out sick prices like 2x MSRP, this ZR1 which quite frankly from all accounts is a work of automotive art and technology will bring absolutely absurd prices. 2 years ago before $4 gas and housing bubble this thing would have really brought in some serious cabbage.

...and 12 bids.

Some people with more money than sense, I guess.

Agreed. Plus, have they even decided on the MSRP yet? Would be nice to know before deciding on how much OVER you'll go. Again, I guess that just brings you back to your statement; "more money than sense".

After all the years I've been selling cars online, starting the bid that low on a paper car will NEVER sell the vehicle. They just wasted $100 on the listing and the internet guy is going to have 500 stupid email questions...Everyone needs to email him 'will you take $30k for it?' or 'how can I get a test drive?'

I think you missed the statement that pointed out that the auction is only for the amount OVER MSRP. Those bids aren't for the selling price of the car.

Then the listing is against Ebay rules, same as ducking final value fees by having a huge shipping charge. Listings are supposed to represent the entire selling price of the item.

Yep... Both have 8 cylinders that are inside of the same block and similar heads. The internals are different. If need be, the LS3 could almost be turned into an LS9.

Ummmm, dealers have been doing this for the past 24 months on the GT500s...and apparently getting away with it.

The only thing that's the same is the block and even THAT is suspect since I read one article that said the LS9 block had some minor mods. Bottom line, I think your use of the phrase "basically the same" was quite a stretch.

It was quite a stretch, but it is nice to know that IF I wanted, I could go to my local dealer and order a supercharger from GM that is a direct bolt on.

More than likely I am going to build my motor in a few years with a cam heads and twin turbo setup.

41 over.

On a side note i just noticed that the little corvette logo on the airbox lid looks like the punisher logo. I think i may be... a little... slow. Or just a geek.
