I'm a newbie for tire size. I've noticed you all kept 17'' rims on your GTs for the winter. Anybody thought about buying 16'' rims for the winter tires? Tell me if I'm wrong but I would see two advantages to fo this:

- Lower cost for the tires
- Higher aspect ratio : less bumpy ride on icy road.

What do you think?

Preacher,

You're right BUT... 16" doesn't fit !!!!
The size of the disk in the front and the galiper doesn't fit...

I have put 17" rims and I cannot pass my smallest finger between the galiper and the rims....

I also got the same tires and rim has Marylène... works really fine.

I paid about 1000$... tires, rims, installation and taxes included.

If your putting winter tires on a 2000 gt you can fit a 15" rim on it. I just put 205/65/15's on mine, cost 700.00 cdn.
