Got great news today, I have a serial number!
Now since I've sold my daily driver, my question becomes how long before I get the car? Is five or six weeks about right?
Thanks
Paul.

Better not be another eight weeks!!!
I sold my 03 driver because they had told me mid~end April, not mid~end June!
I ordered the bloody thing over two months ago!

I was told to expect a possible early June delivery.
Well he isn't 100% sure yet if it'll be the first week of May. That's his best guess.
I guess I'll have a better idea as the date get's closer. But after reading all the news about peoples delays, the IUP delays.. etc.. etc.. I'll be jumping up and down to get a 2005!

Thanks for the feedback Ben.
I don't get it though, if they are building your car the first week of May, why would you not get it until June?

You should have the same timing as Ben.
That would mean production through the week of May 2.
We cannot tell the exact day.
Once it is released, Ford allows 10 days transit time.
It could be two days if the loads flow just right, or more than 10 days if there are rail car delays.
A day or so at the dealership to check over, stock in, PDI, Fuel up and clean up then you are out terrorizing the town!
So to summarize the above info, you should be driving her as early as May 10 or as late as May 25. It is unlikely, but it could be later if there is a factory hold for any quality review.
Once it gets to the serialized stage, commodities are assigned so that won't hold it up.
Once you start driving her, you will understand when owners say the car turns heads!

Holy Moses steve, that's amazing news! Woohooo...
Great news Steve, thanks for the detailed reply.
I'm glad to hear that if all goes well, I should be behind the wheel before the end of May.
Ben, you and I could be hitting the road at the same time!
