hello to everyone,

i realize i am a newbie and i don't want to repeat anything else that has been already posted but I have spent countless hours reading the forums and I am even more confused about the wheels for the 2006 canadian Mustang GT's especially after Brad's announcement and photos today of the wheels.

I have on order an 06 GT with an approximate build date of December with a late January delivery. I ordered the optional 18" wheels which on my order sheet have the "64E" code beside them. According to my dealer, the 64E are the only optional 18" wheels for the 2006 Canadian mustangs(and my contact at the dealer is the dealer owner himself). He told me there is no "late availability" of any other wheels in his order guide for 2006.

Believe it or not I actually want the 64W fanblade wheels which most people here don't seem to like. The reason is that I also ordered through my dealer a second set of wheels (the grey 17" bullitt wheels)with Michelin ice-x tires for winter use. I really wanted the 64W for summer so I could have something different looking.

Any other Canadians that have ordered the optional 18", please provide your feedback about the wheels. Were you able to order the 64W? Do they exist in canada? Brad, do you have any info for us Canadians on the wheels? it doesn't make sense to me why Ford would offer the 64W in the US and not in Canada.

Also...a longshot here...anybody who has the 64W on order and wants the 64E, I would love to trade...yes i am being serious.

I am positive that ordering the wheels will be the same in Canada as in the US, i'll let our resident Canadian sales guy mstang handle the question.

saw the canadian 06 order guide today and there is no listing for the 64W at all

 

you are correct. i placed my 06 order a while ago and was under the impression, like everyone else, that 64e=fanblades. i really like the fanblades and much prefer them to the bullits...now, much to my dismay, this information is now out and i'm PISSED!

i've emailed my dealer all of this information and am waiting on a reply. i'll let you know. if 64e really does = bullits, i'm going back to the stock 17"s and will spend my money on suspension or other things until i can afford the aftermarket rims i REALLY want.

Its only 64e in Canada, I thought 64w was bullitts and tried to oreder those instead but was told 64w couldn't be put through. the sales manager actually tried it. I'm glad it did though I wanted Bullitts anyway.

 

I put in an order for 2006. Can someone help with the process? At this stage, I left a deposit. The dealer said the order would be put in towards the end of August. He'll keep me informed and we'll finalize the options. I have a signed form (his signature and mine) with the options chosen. The form states I will buy the vehicle as indicated on the form. What is the next step? This is the first time I place an order for a car. Your Canadian experience will help. Many thanks.

are you planning on making any changes to your order? if not, I wouldn't worry about it. If you are going to make changes, the sooner the better.

When I placed my order about a month ago, I had originally ordered my GT in Tungsten but I changed it to Vista Blue after I saw that new color on this website. I simply phoned the dealer and he made the change no problem. Keep in mind that I asked for a fall build date(they gave me early December as a build sate) in case I wanted to make any changes to the order. It probably also helps that I know the dealer owner and president.

Which options did you order? Is there an option you are unsure of?

 

I am pretty much set, just not sure about the Shaker 500 option (which is not critical - so I left it off for now, that is, if I don't get it I won't be heartbroken). Reading a few threads on this in 2005+. Some of the advantages include the speakers being installed already. Maybe just for that, I would go for it, so I don't have to do it later on. I am thinking of hooking up an iPOD, and that is why I am questioning the Shaker 500, MP3 capability. The additional cost is not too much considering the overall cost of the vehicle.

Interior Upgrade Package
Wheel locking kits
Color: Windveil Blue
Deleted the sticker along the side of the vehicle.

I don't think I will play around too much on the details of each option (i.e. changing wheel size nor style).

What paperwork do you have with you? The only thing I have now is some sort of contract saying "I am engaging myself to buy the vehicle stated on this form" and it lists out the model and options and the price. The dealer and I signed it, he took a deposit and said that August he would place the order. I am looking for a delivery in early 2006, but won't be sad if it comes earlier.

 

for paperwork, all I have is my signed copy of my vehicle purchase sheet listing the price and all of the options etc... That is all you need for now. Once Mustang production ramps up for the 2006 I am sure you will get a final build date etc...

if I were you , I would get the shaker 500. it has excellent sound for a factory stereo. ALthough, I am not sure about the price as it will be standard on my GT.

What made you go for the v6 instead of the GT? price? fuel consumption?

 

64E is the Bullit Wheel. It is the only 18" wheel offering.

The 64W "fanblade" wheel which is called "premium" looks very similar to the "premium" wheel on the Explorer Limited.

There is no picture of the 64E wheel in the order guide as of yet, but the "polished" description fits the pictures in the Timeline section on this site.

I am leaning towards the Shaker 500, its about $765 CDN (dealer is basing this on 2005 model, www.ford.ca - build&price).

I am going for the v6 based on budget and fuel consumption. With gas prices climbing, I still want to have the pleasure of a Mustang.

 

so...(moderators or brad please answer)...my wish has come true now? I wanted the fanblades and in the US at least the 64e are fanblades. is it going to be the same in Canada as well?

i have no idea what to expect...it feels odd to have a $37000 car on order and have no idea what it will look like because of the confusion over the wheels.

 

This is word from a source at Ford of Canada. Brad has posted the correct information on the wheels as well.

Kristina, don't worry, you'll get your fanblades as long as you didn't change your order.

Ya well I did email my dealer about changing my order (didn't want to pay extra for 18" bullitts) but I never heard back. I'm starting to totally lose it with my dealer.

I just emailed the sales manager to find out why the heck I don't have a build date, seeing as how every &@*%$ person in the US does, and I've been waiting since March. I would really like the fanblades, but at this point, I just want the $#%*@$ car.

Can you tell I'm not in the best mood?

 

Kris, the fanblades shouldn't hold up your car. The Bullitts are 64W and are late availability. Those would hold up your car.

I checked my local dealer and most 06's are unscheduled. But be persistent notheless!
