More than 500 Portland-area Mustang fans will host a 40th birthday party for their favorite car on Saturday, July 31. The celebration will also be the Portland debut of the all-new 2005 Mustang, which goes on sale this fall.
The party, hosted by the Vancouver Mustangs Unlimited car club, will be held at the Vancouver Landing, 100 Columbia Street, Vancouver, Wash. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 31.
The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation will be accepting registrations at the show for the Portland Race for the Cure, held September 19. The Portland event, sponsored by Ford, is the largest Race for the Cure on the West Coast. Organizers hope the 2004 race will raise over $2 million for the fight against breast cancer.
Mark Rushbrook, Vehicle Development Manager for the 2005 Mustang, will be available at the show for media interviews, and to answer enthusiasts' questions about the new model. In addition to the new Mustang, Rushbrook will also unveil the new Ford Five Hundred sedan, and the Ford Freestyle that bridges the gap between a sedan and a traditional sport-utility. All three vehicles go on sale this fall.
