June 12th Hampton Roads Cruise

With the extreme success of the March 27th Hampton Roads Cruise, 800plus, Coderedsaleen, and I wanted to go ahead and plan another cruise. So with that being said on June 12th we will meet at the Sarah Constant Beach Park off of West Ocean View Ave @ 0830-0930. This cruise is open to all Sport Fords. At 930 we will start the cruise head to the Colonial Parkway and end in Jamestown. Once there what we want to do is a cookout. We thought it would be a great family idea and to meet and get up with new Mustang owners and old friends. More details will be coming in the next week. Once again no money is needed. What we would like is for everyone who wants to participate in the cookout to bring your own food items. I'm sure people will bring extra, but please dont rely on other people to feed you lol. If you have any questions or concerns please message either Nem, Coderedsaleen, or me. We would be happy to answer any questions you might have. Hope to see everyone out there and to have a great time.

I just copied my bride on it. We would love it, especially if it is top-down weather!

Alright here are the final details for the June 12th All Ford Cruise. We will be meeting between 8-9AM at the Sarah Constant Shrine parking lot in Norfolk. Its off west ocean view. If you need to look up Sarah Constant Shrine on Google maps. At 9AM sharp we will be leaving with one person with video equipment to go ahead and video the group coming out of the HRBT. For those who do not want to come across the tunnel please meet us at the Jamestown Settlement parking lot at 10AM. If we are not there by 10AM we will be there shortly after. Once everyone is together we will leave the settlement parking lot at 1045AM to begin the cruise. The route will be as follows. We will start out at the Jamestown Settlement parking lot and head toward and complete the Colonial Parkway. We will then take a right onto route 17. Once we hit route 17 we will head toward and take a right onto route 105. Once on route 105 we will head toward and take a right onto route 143. Once on route 143 we will head toward and take a right onto Constitution Way (Newport News Park). In the park we will head to picnic area 3, shelter 17&18. The parking at picnic area 3 is substantial. There are about 60 spaces at the picnic area itself, but if we run into problems you are allowed to park across the street at the other picnic area. You may also park along both sides of Constitution Way. This is not a shine and show, but if you want to do it it’s all up to you. The shelters have 4 large picnic tables each with a dual grill available for use. The bathrooms are located right beside shelter 18. We also have electricity at both shelters. There is a large playground across from our shelters for the kids. There is also a sand volleyball court at the end of our picnic area. For those who like to fish there is a large body of water across Constitution Way. Since we are not collecting money for the picnic and cruise, every individual is responsible for his/her own food and drinks. This is a family non alcohol event please no drinking while your at the picnic site.

I spoke with VDOT about taking pictures and video at the HRBT. There are strict rules and regs from Homeland Security. There is a place where they allow the media to film and I have to call back next week, schedule an appointment and go scope it out. I was able to get two people allowed to film and take pictures of the cruise if the location is ok for what we want. Pending what I find, it would be nice to have those who are interested in this task let us know.

You know, if I had thought for a minute I could have warned you about that.

I assisted a friend of mine once who was working a video project for Marine Fisheries folks. We stopped to grab some footage of the scallop boats moored near the HRBT - and had company in about a minute.

We had letters to show what we were doing, but they still called it all in to confirm. They, very nicely and politely, detained us there until they were sure we were not dangerous.

Law enforcement considers bridges and tunnels to be particularly sensitive points.

Sounds fun, I'll have to see if my work schedule doesn't conflict with anything.

Sorry to disappoint you Bob, but check the post dates. This was a year ago. Hopefully another one will come around this year!

we have another one planned this year at the end of March. Have about 45 cars so far. Here is a link to the main thread over at modfords.
I am posting this to gauge the amount of people who want to cruise in the Spring. It will be in conjunction with the Shamrock car show hosted by the First Flight Cruisers at the OBX.

If you are interested in participating in the show, pre-registration fees are $20 or $25 at the gate. We would meet up at Greenbrier Mall and head to Kill Devil Hills/OBX. We have no affiliation with FFC so your participation in the show is optional.

The cruise is free as always.

More info will be posted throughout the thread as info is updated.

Click on the link for more info about the FFC Shamrock weekend:

Saturday March 19th - Shamrock Car, Truck and Bike Show
R/C Kill Devil Hills Movies 10. 1803 N. Croatan Highway Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948

Please pass this info on to other Mustang owners so we can get a huge turn out for all the up coming cruises. So far the biggest turn out has been 80+ Mustangs and SVT vehicles.
