Ford/mustang shows at MD drags

There are a couple shows at some "local" dragstrips in October that
might be of interest.
Oct 8-9: The first is at the 75-80 Dragway in Monrovia, Maryland
(just east of Frederick). This dragstrip is an oldy, and frankly not
all that well maintained anymore as they are closing down this year.
But the Ford Show they have each year (on Sunday) is usually pretty
well attended--with the dragway closing perhaps that will foster a
large turnout. Plus you can drag all day long, do the burn out
contest or the autocross (a first). See
http://www.7580dragway.com/events/fordspectacular.html. The place is
only 15 minutes away from home, so it's a no brainer for me.
Oct 15-16: The other is at the Maryland International Raceway at
Budd's Creek in southern Maryland on Oct 15-16. There are shows both
days, plus some outstanding drags to watch. See
http://www.mirdrag.com/images/flyers/05_ford_fever.pdf.
Just some ideas, as the number of shows are dwindling and we start
thinking of garaging our machines...

I hear you. Actually the wife and I HAD planned on this but it ended up we couldn't spend the two days down there. Have fun, I'll catch the spring trip to OC next year...

The wife and I decided not to go if it was just the two of us.
Maybe the 75-80 thing will be our alternative if the weather holds up.

I just found out about an hour ago the other couple we were going to go with can't go. He slipped a disk in his back and is not moving much.

Which day? I'm going Sunday, since that's the car show. Test and tune either day though. You loving that C&L yet? Get the 93 octane tune?

Don't know if I'm going Saturday, Sunday or both. Depends on the weather. If it's nice I'll go both to run the car just to get the practice. I've never raced before. My brother-in-law and his wife are coming too I think. He used to run all the time (72 small block chevy camaro with automatic modified street class) that took him to the invitational only regional finals before his now ex-wife made him stop. I'm getting his helmet because I have a vert and he's going to "Train" me on how to race this thing.
My daughter laughs and says the only thing I'm going to do is wreck it.

Well now, I just might have to show up at this place. I just have to decide, 40 miles to 75-80 or 15 to capital.

Just checked with my brother in law who was going with us and I'm going. We are going to at least check it out to see if we can be on asphalt.
If so then I'm staying and running test and tunes if its dry. If we can't get on pavement then we are not staying because the car is certainly not going in the mud.
