Who's thinking about a 2010 Stang
#5
Having not seen a fully uncloaked 2010 model and not liking the majority of the little bits and peaks that have been exposed, count me out for a 2010. The rumors of a 2011 engine upgrade don't help matters any.

After Brads post on the team source thread it looks like the rumors are real the base GT will still have the 3v 4.6 but will offer a heritage package 5.0 425 hp and a six speed for around 2000.00 bucks more.

What are you talking about?? I had that thing out like twice this year.
As much as I would love to have a new car in a couple of years I don't really think I like the body style tweeks that I have seen in the spy photos. And I have been toying with the idea of a forged stroker the last few months. I just hate to do it on a car with 24k miles right now.

My '08 GT will be paid off by mid 2010, but I doubt I'll get another one so soon. I don't plan to trade mine in, and a 2010-2014 Mustang would have to be a substantial improvement over what I already have (or can do to mine) for me to get one. From what I've seen and know of the 2010's I like a few things about them and dislike a few things, I'll reserve final judgement until I see them in person at the NAIAS in Detroit in January. I may consider a 2011-12 if the hp jump is big enough (and if the price isn't too high), but my next new Mustang is likely to be the complete redesign rumored to be coming for the 50th anniversary in 2014 1/2. My wife said she'll buy me a C6 Corvette or '05 Viper when I pay the house off, and I'm hoping that will be in 2013, so that could tide me over until the new Mustang arrives.

Yeah, I skipped the 1st S197 generation but I will most likely jump on the reskin...Roush and Mach 1 are owned outright so I have some room to play....I can say that I WILL own another new Mustang, its just a matter of how bad Ford tempts me with the new SE's that are coming.

Thanks and howdy. I've been lurking for a little while here and there on TMS, only really started posting in the few months since I brought home my '08 GT this summer. I've owned a couple of Fox body Mustangs earlier in my life (an '81 Cobra and an '89 5.0 LX) and would eventually like to pick up another Fox as time and energy allows.

Don't want to be pushy but do you mind saying where you are located? I see you are in Ohio but where?

He's a lurker alright....... but he owns an uber clean Mach 1 and an incredible Roush- one that I debated on purchasing, actually!!!
Regarding the topic, not really looking much at the 2010. To be totally honest and this may floor some of you or get me flamed by others of you, but I've been spending some time looking at ((gulp)) the new Scumaro. Gotta admit, initially it looks pretty killer IMO.

This Scumaro...
But don't worry, I'm still diggin' my GT and am along way off from wanting a new car.
