Welcome to the site!
Get yourself a cold air intake and tuner with tunes from Brenspeed.
www.brenspeed.com
That will gain you around 30 hp and take away all of the throttle delay that you currently have, being stock....... Also, go to the GT Tech section here on the site and read up!

Hey Joe,
Depending on how savy you are and if you own any tools, you can do the CAI, Tune, and UDPs. (Under Drive Pulleys).
I did that on my car along with a Hurst shifter and the difference really was noticeable and the car is much more enjoyable.
The buy-in for these mods is about $1000, so depends on your version of affordable.

Hi Joe, As Tom, Shaun and Scott all stated a CAI and a tuner are really your best and first steps to affordable to Hp gains! There are many good performance vendors Around, but if honesty and integrity mean anything to you I would have to recommend www.brenspeed.com The guys at brenspeed are not just some slick Internet warehouse site selling Stang parts. Brent White and the guys live it!! go there and watch some of there videos, they don't sell one part that they personally don't use or wouldn't use themselves! and never be afraid to ask tom281 and 70MACH1OWNER, these two gentlemen have help me immensely and still do to this day...So good luck and let the mods begin...

Hey Joe,
It really comes down to the appearance of the CAI and what pleases you as far as looks goes. But they all make similar HP numbers. The 2 most prominent CAI's out there are the JLT and C&L intake. There are many others. My personal preference was for the C&L but that's only because I like the way it looks. Not because of HP numbers!! Do a search and look around!
