Got a new Motorcraft Max battery for the '65 and it started right up. I'm back in business! I've probably driven it more in the last 2 days than I have the past two years. Car is awesome.
Just found this thread, and wanted ask permission to join! Between Dayton and Cincinnati here with my 05 convertible GT. Wondering if there are any cruise-ins or car shows coming up in this area? The weather's been so bad here, I'm hoping to attend something car-related before the snow flies!

So our generation Mustangs have Takata airbags. Got a recall notice yesterday for replacement when parts are available. Didn't see that one coming. How is everyone these days
I got one of those notices, too. My wife thought we were to take the car in, until I showed her it was just a "notice" that something was wrong with it, not the call to get it replaced! What are we supposed to do while they decide how to fix it? (Aside from getting into a head-on crash, that is!)
By the way, my "old" '05 GT was able to hold its own last night when a guy in 2013 5.0 challenged me to a little "who can get to the next stop light first" action (not red-light drag racing; no not that). My only performance mods are a JLT CAI and a Brenspeed 93 octane tune. I had just changed the spark plugs and oil in the last month, so it seemed like a good idea to clear any extra carbon out of the heads (WINK).
I got the hole shot, and did well pulling through 2nd gear, but he caught and passed me while I was topping out of 3rd. It was a fun little nod to each others' machines, and we went our separate ways revving engines and flashing our headlights. AH those, summer nights...
