Nope. It started underneath and behind the fire box at the base of the fireplace. We are extremely thankful to all the fire fighters that were on scene and saved the house from total disaster. They shown up within 5 mins of the call and had the fire contained within 30 mins. They even said that if they had shown up a min later the house would have been gone cuz the fire was just starting to get into the attic when they got there. So it didnt have a chance to spread across the house thru the attic.
Wow Dirk! Glad y'all are ok! My grandparents had a chimney fire around thanksgiving and it looks really similar.

I am not even a big time football guy and I thought that game sucked big time. After all the hype about being such a close game with Denver a 2 point favorite. I went to bed half way thru the 4th quarter. I even thought the commercials were not up to standards. Not that anyone cares but big snow on the way for tomorrow night and Wed.
