Midwest TMS'ers General Communication Thread
I already have a SCT Xcal 2, so I just need to get the programming in it updated. Not a big deal though, need new files anyway for the manual trans car. I haven't been able to use it on this car yet, had it tied to my automatic '05.

Me too. I think the metal and ice cream industries are both horrible right now.
However the sun is shining, atleast that's a good thing.
Oh almost forgot, I rented a movie, plan to watch it tonight- it's got you in it I think- the title is "No country for old men" or something like that.....

I must really be getting old and crotchiety.. or my skin is so thick that this poop doesn't bother me anymore.
Or maybe I am just really getting old and don't care anymore.

Howdy Gents
Just woke up after having to work several Mids this week at work. I did get the car out this morning and cleaned it up, called the Insurance Co., and I'm in business. took the better half out for Lunch before I took my nap. My daughter (oldest) made a poster for me have a look.

I think its time for bed I'm still sleepy.
Well the Ice cream and Scott's Metal business may be slow but Cold Rolled and Zinc Coated Steel is still going crazy. I think I'll end up with something like over 120 hrs this last 2 weeks. Also they are getting readt to annouce a new CG Line to be up and running by late 09. Another 50 to 60 people to be hired and trained.

I glad someone in the manufacturer sector in this country is busy. Where do you ship it all too China? Becasue I can't imagine who is using it over here. Every stamper in the country is running about 30-40 % down. At least if it has anything to do with the auto industry or home building industry. I had to tell 14 guys to stay home today because of lack of work. As you can imagine I was real popular.

Well with only 2 major Steel makers left (Mittal and USX, Nucor is mainly secondard) in North America and us being the best, quickest, and most profitable of the lot for Mittal they have closed down other finishing mills to keep us full. We supply both cold rolled (Steelcase,Maytag, etc.) and CG (Continuse Galivazing) to Automotive and EG (Electro Galivazing) to Automotive. EG is down alittle and only running 15 turns a week, the rest is ***** to the wall production. We supply all the Auto makers ( even Checker Cab) and since we are still half owned by Nippon Steel, we get alot of the NAM's busniess. NAM is all the Japanesse makers (Toyota, Honda, etc.). I'm sure you have notice all the Japan makers are close to the Midwest (Toyota Georgetown, Ky and soon to be Indy, (Honda Marysville, Oh. and soon to be Ind. also a Izsueo plant in Lafayette, In.
Our mill is run differently then most mills. Management is only on site 8-5 M-F. The Team Members run the mill. I hav'nt seen a Management person in over 2 weeks. Everybody knows their job and does it. We are paid by our proformace and get quarterly bonus. For the last several years with alittle overtime the ave Team Members paid has been in the 6 figure range.
Sorry for the long post and all the misspelled words
