Travel to US Westcoast and wants a Mustang

Hi there,

Hello to everybody. I'm new on this board.
I'm from switzerland and I want to travel for two months to the US West Coast. And my dream is to have a Mustang GT (2005-2012;8 cyl) for this time. What is the easiest (and cheapest) way to have a Mustang GT for this time. Shall I buy one and sell it after my trip or is it better to rent one? or any other idea?

Thanks a lot for your help

Hannes

Hertz.com shows a monthly rental of a Mustang GT will cost about $2600 (including taxes/fees but without insurance).

A quick search on craigslist (http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sea...k=5000&maxAsk=) shows 2005 Mustangs GT going for about $12,000 (+ taxes/license - add about 10% in CA) at a used car dealer. Probably can be negotiated down a little bit. If you get one with relatively low mileage, I'm guessing you can sell it to a different used car dealer (or maybe even the same one) fairly easily for about $8500.

At that point, it seems like the least hassle would be to get the rental. You get a newer 400+ HP Mustang and you don't have to deal with any maintenance issues or the hassle of finding a buyer for a car you purchased.

I agree with you Warren it would be much easier and cheaper to buy and drive then sell it to car max or some one like that
