Just curious how many around the forum are near the "South Bay" area....Santa Calra County / San Jose. Are there any clubs in the area? .....or rides planned?

A nice one would be up or down the coast and through the Santa Cruz Mtns.? It would be a sweet ride down HWY 35, a.k.a. Skyline, from 92 to HWY 9 to Boulder Creek / Felton and into Santa Cruz then down HWY 1 toward Monterey / Carmel to Moss Landing for lunch. Then over 152 through the back roads.

Photo is of one of my all time favorite drives. HWY 35 / Skyline in the Hills above Palo Alto toward the Santa Cruz Mtns.

Don't know why I didn't see that before. Sounds like it might be fun. I'm hoping my car gets delivered on time.....this next Sunday, March 6th, is the scheduled date. My schedule is very sporatic, but if it works out I'd love to join in.

I'm up for it. I know this route. My wife grew up in Bonny Doon.

Besides, your route is more scenic than mine. Probably hard to get 50 cars following each other through the windy roads.

I know those mountain roads very well. I was a photographer for Homes and Land Magazine and the mountain region was my turf. I've got a great loop from Skyline to Hwy 9 to Santa Cruz, up Hwy 1 to 84 and up 84 to Skyline and Alices Restaurant.

Ever do the drive up Mount Hamilton to Lick Observatory? Last time I drove up there I was passed by 12 Vipers on a ride. They all parked by the observatory for photos with the entire valley as a background.

I used to live in Half Moon Bay and have driven those roads more than once but it was on a sport bike. Beautiful scenery and and fun drive.

Hey Deryn, I don't know how I missed this post back in March. I lived in Bonny Doon as a kid. I'd be up for a mountain run, but I often work weekends so would need some lead time.

Allen???

I'd love to get a few of us together and make the loop. As to when...... my time these days is really on a day to day basis. Between work and taking mom to all her different cancer treatments and tests leaves little time. then it depends on how she feels that day.

Hopefully sometime soon............

Meet at a large parking lot in Saratoga that I know of...take HWY 9 to Skyline (HWY 35)....to HWY 84.......then we need to choose between taking 84 down to Woodside or the other way to the coast and HWY 1. Take 1 south to HWY 9 and back up 9 to Skyline via Boulder Creek.

Or 1 north to Half Moon Bay and HWY 92.....92 back up to Skyline.

I hope so, too, Allen. Best wishes to your Mom.
