The show is definately on for Saturday May 21st 10am-2pm we are going to start parking cars at 9am. I hope you all can still make it out to the show. For those that are coming the address is 7020 Manzanita St. Carlsbad CA 92009 you can map quest it but I will put the directions below, there are lots of ways to get there but the following is the least confusing and fastest route from the freeway. It is in the parking lot of Sunrise Assisted Living At La Costa on the corner of El Camino Real and Aviara. There will be food, and music and lots of aftermarket companies. Like I said before this is free to all and open to the public to come out and check out the cars so get the word out and even if you are not planning on showing a car please come out and check us out. There isnt a competition but there will be a raffle with some great prizes.

Now for the directions......

Coming North or South on the I-5 exit La Costa Ave. and head EAST (left off freeway if your coming south and a right if your coming north)

Make a left on El Camino Real (first real big intersection with shopping center on adjacent corner and Star Bucks) Head NORTH

Make a RIGHT on Aviara (third light; again next major intersection with shopping center on adjacent corner; street sign says Aviara to left and to the right its called Alga but its the same street)

Make a LEFT on Manzanita St (next light)

and an immediate left into the parking lot..... youll see us someone will be out there directing traffic.

I had a cool chat with Richard yesterday and was amped and up for it, so I pulled the car out of the garage almost as soon as I stepped off the plane last night to try to pinpoint the coolant leak, so the shop wouldn't have to weiner around with my car too long.

Anyway, I put it into reverse - nothing at first, then "CLUNK" the car pulls back hard! I think "WTH now?!?". I take it out off the drive and onto the street to see if the drive gears are the same. They feel ok as I take a 100 yard test drive, but then, the tranny feels like it's up and taken off for a vacation! Give her gas and all she does is rev high and continue to crawl forward at 5-10 mph!!!

Long story short, the car needs some TLC at a good dealer, not "Ratchett, Clunk and Sons".

I'm freakin gutted!

EDIT - If the car's off the road for any time, I'm gonna ask for a replacement GT, so I'll tag along in the renter. Maybe someone at the show will take pity on me and offer refurbish my pony with a shiny new big block and blower?

 

I'd love to make it but the drive is hellish far for me. Seems like these meets keep moving farther south everytime.

 

thats because those folks from LA keep whining about driving their cars and never show up so although I love driving mine if everyone is coming from further south why drive to ugly LA. Just kidding please dont take offense, so far this is the first one south of the OC and the last one was the furtherst north I believe, so I dont know what your talking about.


Anyone have a 05 saleen that would like to come and show off their car for some reason the two big dogs never want to play and seem to be way behind in the game, oh well the smaller companies did a much nicer job modifying the mustang this time around anyway, but we would still love to have at least one out there.

 

OK remember the show is from 10am to 2pm but we are parking cars from 9am to 10am so if your in the show make sure you get there before 10. I will be there setting up the vendors at 8am so if you need to get there sooner you can.
