Most tracks follow NHRA or NMRA rules. You can check out thier sites and see what they say. http://www.nhra.com and http://www.nmraracing.com

Also you can contact the track in question and see what they say.

I know at Moroso in West Palm and the time I ran Orlando at FFW, I believe the current rule is in the 13s or lower, you need an approved helmet.

Drive shaft loop.... geez I don't think that's required unless you are going around 10s or something.....

What mods do you have on your ride? Automatic or manual?

If you get multiple runs, run it at regular street weight.

Then if you want, take out the spare.
Also dropping the rear tire PSI to 35 might help a bit but do that after you get a base street trim run in like mentioned above above -

If you want, try to time it so when you get to the track, you have HALF a tank of gas or less.

On STREET tires, you don't need a serious burn out - just spin them a few times to clean them off. As you come into your lane drive AROUND the side of the water box (don't wet your tires - only with drag radials or slicks). Then line up center of lane in the grooves you see - back up a bit if you have to for your burn out but watch the water. You don't want to dawdle and hold things up but don't let anyone RUSH you - take your time so you get your run right. Powerbrake and bring the revs up till you feel the rear start to break loose - release break and keep on gas and spin them. Of course, stop before you hit the beams.

Get yourself set and creep up. When you break the first beam, WAIT and take a second. Both to get yourself ready and wait for the other guy if he isn't staged yet (with most racers, it is common courtesy to stage first light and WAIT for the other guy if he isn't prestaged yet)

Once you are both prestaged (first bulb), gently creep up watching the second bulb..... the second you see it lit, stop, hold the break down and bring the revs up - I ran Dougs tune in my 05 auto so power break to maybe around 1,700/2000 - you want the revs up but you don't want the car to creep.

ONLY WATCH YOUR SIDE OF THE TREE
Its easy to get distracted watching the other guys side.

First amber light will go on, then second, and then the third. Watch for the third one to dim and go out - release the brake and mash the accelerator to the floor. By the time you roll across the line the green light should be on.

Keep pedal down and hang on!

well i still havent made it to the track but i like your bulb tip and info. very good advice. but there's no way i could rev mine to 2 k, when i let go i'd be peeling out, i got 4.10's. when i prat drag on a remote street, i smash it and manually short shift the auto into sesond at 4k. otherwise it peels out way too much. man i want a time slip, i will make it down there soon, i hope.
