The lake will make a nice background for some "baby pictures".
Gotta question for the group: Am I the only one considering staying in a hotel Saturday night? Tally is a good 3 hour drive for me and if I am planning on having a few
it may not be wise for me to make this a day trip. Just curious, because if others are considering an overnighter, thought we might be able to find a group rate some where....

Just curious, because if others are considering an overnighter, thought we might be able to find a group rate some where....Well, since I'm a freq traveler, I've got free nights at Hilton props. So my wife and I (and baby) are staying at the Hampton on Apalachee Pkwy. Then we plan on visiting with some old friends. I think the rate was like $79, not bad for Tallahassee. You might want to make your plans ASAP even though is not a football weekend, hotels are kind of sparce this time of year.......
Lisa, If we plan on consuming adult beverages, I'll be spending the night also.
As for my car show, it's pretty small. (only about 200 cars) It's a genaric, all included show, but it's a great place to meet other car guys.. err... car people.

Made my reservation for the Cabot Lodge on North Monroe Street. Its just a couple of miles down from Lake Ella and has easy access to I-10. (rate was $73)...

So...now that THAT is settled, lets start making plans.
We have people coming from Jax, Pensacola and Alabama. We need to have an estimated time of arrival into Tallahasee and a meeting place. Do we just want to meet at Lake Ella or meet somewhere close by and drive to the lake as a group?
I may have jumped the gun and just assumed that we would be going to Lake Ella because of better parking and better back drop for photos. However, on the sticky "Tallahassee Anyone", Will mentioned gathering at Capitol Plaza. Sooooo.... guess we need to know which it is going to be, then we can make further plans. If we do have the "official Meet" at the Plaza, I would still like to cruise to the Lake for some pics.
I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing some familiar faces from our jax Drive....

Depending on how many Talla folks are at the lake, I think we could get plenty of cars around the lake. The parking across the street (Rio Bravo and Golden Corral), and there's a huge Publix parking lot just to the north.
The Lake has a drive around the lake with parking on both sides of the drive. There is about a 10 spot lot as well. Park type bathrooms are available too.
Lake Ella is about 2.5 miles south of I10 and US27 (Monroe St), and the Capitol Complex is about 1.5 miles south of Lake Ella. See my earlier post about parking at the Capitol.
I kind of figured the Jax folks would get there no later that 1pm (I might have to stop at every rest area with a 1 yr old)

I say go for meeting up at Lake Ella, sorry if I caused confusion (was long day
)
If we can fit all cars at the lake cool, if not we'll go for the biggest semi empty lot we can find close to food. And scare the bejezus out of some poor restuarant staff

I am still trying to decide whether to take both cars or just one. Marylin has never been on a road trip before, but I am sure Hatch wants to take his. Decisions, decisions..........
