Jewls- Are you checking on-line? If so, what I discovered was that when I would check hotel availability on-line, everything was booked, but when I called the hotel directly, I was able to get a reservation (I only checked 2 hotels, The Hampton and The Cabot Lodge, but at the time, they both had rooms.)

Okay Guys and Gals..... October 15th is drawing ever so near. Lets start getting some concrete plans on this excursion!

William had mentioned the jax folks meeting at 9am, Town Center Plaza (Parking lot in front of petsMart, I think). Departure time would be 9:30. Is this good for everyone?

I'm planning on leaving from Fernandina, so you guys will have to pick me up at the 2nd rest area after you get on I-10 (i believe its around mile marker 315?). I should be there about 10:30am.

We need to come up with an estimated time of arrival into Tally so we can meet up with the folks coming in from Dothan and Pensacola.

And one last item...where and what time do we want to hook up with the Panhandle Ponies?

 

My input as far as time goes, if the group leaves at 9:30 and stops at every other rest stop, we should get there by 12:30. So I think 1pm would be a good meet time. There is plenty of parking on the road around the lake, in a couple of small parking lots right at the entrance off Monroe, a church lot on the NE corner of the lake, the resturants across the street, and even in the Publix lot a half block north. I will try to put together a map of the area.

 

I think all of us coming from this side are meeting up and riding in together. 1pm is fine with me.

Parking ideas are great...just have to see how many we have. So eveyone chime in, so we can get a count please.

Lisa, we can pick you up there, that will be our regroup site once we leave from Town Center (if good with all). If anything you may catch us just after getting onto I10. 1PM should be perfect...

Yep. I'll be going. Me and Hatchman and Jewls will be meeting off I-10 North of Panama City.
How does 11:30 sound for our meeting time, Hatchman? It should take about an hour to get to Tallahassee from there. Would normally be less, but driving in a group can slow things down.

Lisa-I found some but forgot to make the reservations. Oops! I am not a big drinker, so I may end up driving back depending on how late it is.

 

Let's make it 11. That'll get us there around noon, time to check into the hotel, etc. Do you have a room yet? I'll be calling around today to find one.

 

Got a room at Cabot Lodge on Monroe St, less than two miles from the Lake, 4 miles from Downtown, and only 73 bucks a night.

11:00 is fine with me. According to the FL D.O.T. website, Hwy 231 (the road to Dothan) is exit 130. We can meet at the Hardee's there. It's on the North side of the interstate.

It arrived in Jax Friday night via rail, and of course did not make it to Gainesville by Saturday via truck. It will probably get there Monday, and again of course I'm going out of town this week and I will not be home until Thursday night. So I WILL have a fun day on FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!

(I ordered from Gainesville Ford 'cause I got a really good deal)

Mustang party at the Cabot Lodge I guess. Has anyone decided on where we are having dinner? We should probably call and "warn" them we are coming. I don't mind making the call if we have a head count and a place picked out.
