Horsepower for Charity April 5th
I dislike someone signing up just to promote there agenda as much as the next person but scothew told me I could.
My name is Trey but I have been called Skillet since 1995. I live in Moody Alabama. I drive a 96 Impala SS with a 383,2800 stall and 3.73 gears. I also have a 93 Ranger with 270K miles on it. There is a charity dyno day this Saturday from 8am-5pm at Walker Dyno Tune in Trussville Al. If you have never been it is right off of the Hwy 11 exit off of 459 on Morrow Road. This event benefits the American Cancer Society. Everyone is welcome to attend. The dyno slots are currently full but if you make over 400 to the wheels bring your car as we may need an alternate. There will be door prizes, 50/50, guitar hero tournament, and a $5 raffle. There will also be pre orders for the event DVD and hopefully the event t shirts will be ready. All profits go to The American Cancer Society. If you want to buy 4 raffle tickets you can write a check to American Cancer Society for $20, get your tickets, and a tax deduction. 1st place in the raffle is a brand new NOS dry kit with 10# bottle. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th will be winners choice between 2, 3 day passes to the AMA race at Barbers, 2, 3 day passes to the Porsche 250 at Barbers, and an hour of dyno time at Walker Dyno Tune. Drawing will be held at Bama Dragway around midnight. You do not have to be present to win. Everyone who attends Horsepower for Charity will be able to get into Bama Dragway and race for $5. Just present your door prize ticket.
We currently have 15 sponsors for this event but are always looking for more. We ask for a minimum of .01 per hp made or $100. There will be 20 cars dynoing that day. If we average 500whp=10,000 x.01=$100. Checks will be made out to American Cancer Society so there will be no chance any of your money goes anywhere else. You do not have to pay at the event but it will be needed within 3 weeks. As a sponsor your information will be listed on the DVD as well as put into the event video that will be posted around the web. Lunch is provided Saturday for all sponsors and everyone that dynos. I know most people don't sign up for these things for the recognition but I don't expect everyone to do it for free. If you would like to sponsor but can't spare the $100 anything you can contribute will help. T-shirts, floor mats, gauges, car cleaning supplies, anything at all that can be used as door prizes or as part of the raffle. If you want I can give you a form to sign that will count as a tax write off.
If anyone has any questions about this event, the location, Bama Dragway, sponsorship, anything at all, just ask and I will hopefully be able to answer them before the event.

Instruction booklet not included.

This is definitely going to a good cause, I wish I had thought about telling him to post it up prior to now.
Two slots have opened up. 9:35 and 11:40. They are open to anyone who has a domestic or domestic powered vehicle as long as you make over 400whp. You will get two pulls at no cost to you. Post up ASAP if you are interested.
I was about to say. "WHY DIDN'T SCOTT TELL ME!?!"
Umm...I will take the 11:40 if it is still open. Mine should be able to make over 400whp...never had it dyno'd before. Scott what do you think?

Thanks to everyone who made it out. Weather was miserable. Cold and raining almost all day. Several cars had problems but the day went on. It's looking like we will have raised a little over $2000 for American Cancer Society. DVDs of the event will be available soon for $10. The money from them goes to American Cancer Society as well.
