Mystery Hotwheels
Anyone know the idea behind these ? I walk into Wal-Mart today and the clerk was upparking a case to put on the shelf I was hoping to find a Red Shelby GT 500 but I noticed that he pulled out these Mystery Hotwheels I guess if I open them I'll know but I don't think I should or it's no longer a Mystery

Neat idea but bad idea....this is probably the worst idea a company could have from the point of damaged unsaleable merchandise. They have been out for some time and EVERY time I see them on the shelf they have been torn open and many have the cars missing.

they are a cool idea. Hotwheels has two Mustangs in the Mystery series right now. A black 05 GT Concept with green interior. And a 70 Mach 1 yellow with black decals.

Anyone know how many different cars are in the mystery series right now? I don't really feel like spending a lot of $$ if there are a ton of them. Just want to find those 2 mustangs and don't think it is right to pre-open the pkg at the store.

hmmm. just back from Wally mart. Picked up Hotwheel #01 White Shelby GT500, and a Mystry box too. In it, a Primer hot rod. on the doors "McClone's Rod & Custom" on the bottom "Track-T" "1998 Mattel,Inc." Soooo, although there are probably some, most likely few, newer ones, looks like just a way to get rid of NOS stuff.
