I have collected dicast (specifically hotwheels, but some JLs also ) for over 20 years. About 5 years ago, I threw in the towel on collecting the new stuff because of all of the scalpers. You would be absolutely amazed at the 3am backroom deals that go on in Walmarts when the new cases are opened.

Or $0.50...

I wouldn't pay for it, even though I'm still looking for a 2005 Hotwheels.

I also collect hotwheels, the Mustang Treasure Hunt has just come out, very few around, some people are willing to pay big $ to get it first, in a month or two it will sell for $5.00 to $10.00. Don't rush to buy one.

On E-Bay, people will spend money on anything. I'm embarassed to think about what I've spent on some artwork in the past...

look at the front of the car real close, that is not an 05 mustang. I was at the FFW event in April and when you filled out a survey thay gave each person a first edition hot wheels of an 05 mustang. they proble give them at all the FFW events, I could be wrong though.

That does look like a 69 Mustang. Funny thing is there was a 69 T-Hunt in 1999. It's strange that they would do another one so soon of the same car.
I also found a First Edition 2005 Mustang.

I have got the 2005 First Edition realistic the 05 Mustang GT production car, the 2005 First Edition 05 Mustang GT Concept, and the 2005 First Edition Realistix of the Ford Shelby Cobra Concept.

I looked for at least 6 weeks before I found the 05 Mustang GT production version. And finally I was walking past toys & happend to glance at them & there it was in front. So naturally I snatched it. But other than these and a few select other I don't collect hotwheels.

I am more into NASCAR than Hotwheels. BTW Doc is right about those shadey 3am stockroom deals at walmart. It's pretty deep. It actually makes me wish sometimes that I worked in recieving instead of on the sales floor. Oh well. Good luck to you on you search.
