I got mine last week from Tower Hobbies With coupon it came to like $21.99 shipped. See my other thread for coupon details.

I'm very happy with it, but from the pictures I've seen, I thought the color would be Redfire instead of Torch Red. But that's ok, I still love it
I too, may try to snag another coupe, dissassemble it, sand, and prime it to
Redfire.

Yesterday, I went to Ralph's to buy some beer. On my way to the cashier, there was a shelf filled with 1:18 Hot Wheels diecasts for $14.99 with the Ralph's Club card. Hell, I couldn't resist that, as the cheapest Mustang I've seen was $20 at Target.

I'll post some pics later this week when I have the chance.

This past Saturday I went to Stop & Shop to buy a couple groceries, and found the Hot Wheels 1/18 yellow convertible in there. I've been holding out for over a year already, waiting for someone to come out with a yellow coupe 5-speed diecast, but I picked this one up and looked it over and starting thinking about getting it anyway. Even though it was a convertible, and an automatic, and no IUP, it still looked pretty good, and had the bullitt wheels (yeah, chrome instead of painted, but still the bullitts). I stood there looking at it for 5 minutes making up my mind whether to buy it or not, mainly because I only had about $35 in my pocket, didn't feel like going to the ATM, and the price of the diecast was $19.95.

Finally, I decided to get it anyway, and to my surprise, when the cashier rang it up after scanning my Stop & Shop card, there was a $10 savings with the card, so it only cost $9.95!

So after I took it out of the packaging, I looked it over closely, and it's really not bad for $20, and definitely very good for $10. I also have a 1/18 diecast of a 1994 Mustang GT, made in France by Jouef, and the Hot Wheels compares very nicely to it. The paint is pretty nice, though it's a bit thin near the panel lines of the trunk and rear bumper. The interior is detailed down to the Mustang on the steering wheel and numbers on the speedo and tach. The underneath of the car is really well-done, with all the suspension parts modeled, and a separate chrome exhaust from the cats all the way back to the mufflers, with the pipes snaked over the rear axle like the real thing. The engine compartment is fine too, with a chrome version of the prototype's intake cover (with the embossed horse).

The only places it falls a bit short of the more expensive Jouef, IMO, is the non-opening trunk. That's a nice detail on the '94 model, not just because you can open the trunk and see inside, but because the panel openings look more realistic. But overall, the Hot Wheels 1/18 is quite nice, and a real bargain if you can get it for $10!

Slightly off-topic, but here's a pic of the 1/64 Hot Wheels promotional yellow coupe. My wife got this for me at Christmas from someone on Ebay:
