Hello All,

I have a piggie bank, or Doggie Bank that My Dad aquired in 1966 when he bought a New 66 Stang Coupe at El Monte Ford in El Monte, California.

I call it Papa and Son. Boy Dog has a ball cap on that has FORD on the side.

I was wonderng if Anybody has ever seen one or might have one.

"What would it be worth?" B)

Kewl,

Was this a Dealer thing, or Could they be bought from Ford back then?

Any idea of how many were made?

Here is a photo of two Ford dog banks in my collection.

The first Ford dog (on the left) dates from the early '60s and was from an old Ford TV commercial where a big shaggy dog is washing a new Ford and says, "It's a F-o-r-d," with the letters spelled out on his mouth. Notice the wash rag in his hand. My dad brought it home from a Ford dealer in Southern California as part of the promotion. It is a ceramic bank about 8 inches tall.

I never knew there was another kind of Ford dog bank until my father-in-law gave me the one on the right just before he died. He said he got it from a Ford dealer in California in the mid-'70s. These are the only two Ford dog banks I have ever seen.

I don't have a clue how many they made or what they might be worth.

Any ideas out there?

There are two on eBay at about $20 apiece.
