I thought about the Stage 3 or 427R instead of the stage 2, but I was trying to compare tangerines to oranges. All the cars in the list are 300-340HP and are non supercharged.
Stage 3 and 427R are 415/427hp and are in a different league (I would compare them to the S/C Saleen, S/C Foose, S/C Steeda)
Also, when I went to the Roush website they listed $11.6K for the stage 2 so I figured $28K for a GT + 11.6K for the stage II= $39.6K which is roughly the same price as the Shelby GT and entry level Foose.

Wow! anyone of these cars would be a nice one to own. I would think as far as overall performance the Roush or the Saleen would win on the track. The Foose has alot of styling and a bit to much bling for a guy like me. Steeda?? Not really sure what to say here, I saw one and was not really impressed with the styling or the performance. The Shelby is more or less a GT with the FRPP pack and some SHELBY ADM neither of which I am a fan of. I like all the cars, but I guess in the end depends on what type of vehcile you are looking for. They are all mustangs that appeal to a specfic buyer in mind. The nice thing about anyone of these cars is that they are factory orignials most are serialized and documented as new cars with warranties so the buyer in no way loses out for paying some extra dough. Based on forecast values they may all be collectiables in the future as an added bonus.

Mark, if I had to pick from the list, I chose the Steeda, just for what you get, and the components to make it good. If you went a few thousand more, I'd go for a Stage 3 or a 427R Roush, hands down. The extra $$$ that Saleen wants for its S/C car isn't worth it to me, and the Roush has a great suspension setup in their cars. Seeing the Stig drive it on the track and seeing NO body roll (compared to LOTS on the GT500), shows just how good and dialed in the Roush cars are.

That's including then $10.000 dealer mark-up and $1.000 Gas guzzler Tax.
Roush that is for me.

If it had to be a new car.....
Mustang GT premium
ATI procharger
suspension goodies (sways, shocks, springs)
forged pistons/rods/crank
rims/tires
save the rest for track time.
no need to spend that kind of money when you dont have to, for a car that is just as fast.

none of the above.........
The mustang gt prem is a great 29-30K dollar car that with a few mods can be made into an even better performance car for around 34-35K total.
If I was going to spend 45K dollars, I would be looking at a porsche if I wanted quality and style or a new vette if I wanted performance. Plain and simple.
The mustang is great, don't get me wrong, and for 30K dollars, I can forget about the downsides every time I mat the pedal. But I am not so sure how I feel about spending that much on one.

None of the above
I dont like the 69 style hood of the Foose.
I dont like the rear spoiler, or front fascia of the Roush
I dont care foe the wing or front fascia (grille in particular) of the Slaeen
I dont believe 45 K will get you a Shelby with ADMs, but it might.
If I had 45 K to spend on a toy, I would start with a GT, add the GT500 front end, but it would need a different hood. Cervini rear spoiler.
I would have a aluminum block 5.4 Ford GT block with the 4v heads built NA.
Add a bullet proof 5 spd auto, aluminum ds, and 3.73 gears.
Deep dish 17s on the rear only.

I knew this was going to happen on this poll. If I had $45K in the banks I wouldn't buy any of them either. But that wasn't the intent of the poll (and the reason I intentionally left out "none of the above"
Let me reword the question for y'all.
The Mustang Source has a competition to win one of these cars. You enter and win. You can pick 1 of the 5 cars in the above poll. Which one would you choose?
