Your Reason for Wanting a 05-07?
#1
My reason for wanting a 2007 Mustang (Boss Cobra, blah) is because I want a classy and more refined Mustang.
When I say refined, I don’t mean necessarily the ride quality, just the quality of the parts, finish, and handling. I am also getting tired of pretending my 97 GT is fast—racing other chicks with V6s who don’t know any better or grandma sedans.
When the SVT version comes out, I am sure that the 500hp 5.4 S/C V8 will be an ideal fit along with 20” wheels and superior suspension (the Ford GT will probably be at 600 or even 650hp if it is still around). The SVT version will surprise a lot of people when it debuts and I will be almost invincible on the road driving mine =)
What’s your reason for wanting a 2005-07 Mustang?
(edited for grammer...names were changed to protect the guilty)

I Have No Life
While nothing is invincible...even the regular 300hp GT will decimate a lot of whats on the road....a 500hp 'cobra' will decimate even more.
Just remember, theres always someone faster.....
I want the 05 because of the V8, the look, the refinement, the colour, the way the door opens..the way it smells, the way it feels...and etc etc

Classy and refined? I think the GT does that. I think what you mean is MO POWER and more unique.
I can't afford a $45,000+ Canadian sports car. Plus, they aren't introducing one for two more years.
So, tired of waiting my life away, I'M BUYING GT BABY!! Instant satisfaction (minus the three years of waiting that is..hehe)
Maybe a few bolt-ons in a year or two but that's about it. I'm not going to create a Cobra out of it.

You only race other chicks? Ones you know are driving v6?
Just giving you a hard time. I think it is cool a chick wants a 500hp monster.
I want it because I know it will be the best mustang ever. It will be smooth and docile at normal speeds with more than enough power on reserve. When you cut it loose it'll run like a scalded cat (or headless cat in Ford's case). I, like you, am drooling at the thought of what this car is going to be. Even though the GT is going to be hard to resist, it'll be worth the wait. Maybe we'll be the first to post "I got my '07 Cobra today."

I could cheat and buy an 04 Mach 1. Its weird, I test drove an 04 GT, it has pretty much the same interior style as my 97 but it just……feels different for some reason. But I’m afraid that feeling would wear off quickly knowing there is an ALL new 05 available.
If I wait until 2006 for the new Cobra and bolt on an extra 100+ hp then I will be glad I waited.
I want it fast and I want it furious. All those Camaro SS drivers who challenge me today will bow to the wrath of Ford Mustang SVT Boss Cobra (hehe).

I want one becaue I love the styling. 300hp is plenty for me. The quality and handling will be better, even without IRS, which I would love to have.
But I'll wait until 2006 hoping that I can get a coupe in Dark Highland Green.
I saw a Bullitt (68) at a car show in my town yesterday and thought much the 2005 resembles it. I love the retro look.

Maria, a 05 GT with some bolt ons will probably demolish the current SS's let alone a 500hp Cobra + 100hp worth of bolt ons.
You don't want to beat them, you want to give them a 50m head start and beat them, LOL.

I want one because so many things about it remind me of my 1966 mustang. That was the best car I ever had. This is hard to describe, but you sat down into the car, and it really felt like you were in control (even though it was difficult to keep on the road). It has something to do with the height of the seat compared to the dashboard, hood, and side doors. So many other new cars just don't have this feeling. The other reason I want one is that it will have all the nice things that will make it enjoyable to drive, like air conditioning, leather seats, etc. Not to mention that it will handle and perform way better than my old one. It's all good B)

well ive been fascinated by a mustang for all my life , im 22 now. the car ive owned was purchased in parents best interests, only 140 hp, so not very fun at all..put the pedal to the floor and go no where. i cant wait to upgrade to a gt 300hp.
p.s. you're talking 500 or 600 hp for a cobra SE.. come on now, there comes a time when things are just too fast, if you can beat everyone on the road, wheres the challenge?

I want one because I still don't have my Cobra. My dream car has always been a Cobra, and seeing the new mustang model makes me want a new Cobra more.
One of the many reasons why I want a Cobra is that its nice to know not a lot of people would be dumb enough to want to race you in one.

i want one because:
1. remindes me of the fastback, (65-66 fav). never could get my hands on one.
2. almost bought a 03 mach1,300hp
3. the s197 has the fastback w/ mach1 hp, an will order shaker 1000 w/mp3 6 disk.
now tell me why NOT to buy a 05-07. whats not to luv on the stang except ford striping parts as we speak. intake cover. door kicker trim,
shifter ball, ect.ect.

Since I was 14 I have wanted to own a Mustang (25 now). My goal was to build and restore a 65-66 model, that will have to wait for now.
I graduated school, looking for the dream job (soon, hopefully)
I want to buy a new mustang and with the choice between an 04 or an 05, I love the extra power and style.
