My friend who has a 350z and I were talking the other day about differences in the owners of his car and my 05. It seems like most 350z owners are first adding visual mods before any type of performance while I think that the majority of Mustang owners are getting a lot of performance mods before show mods.
What type of mods did you do first and why?

I voted Go because my first mod was exhaust. But I'm literally 50/50. I was adding up my mods the other day, and I've spent about the same amount of money on both performance and appearance mods.

My first mods were Go but now I'm switching to Show over the winter months. When spring starts getting close I'll then switch back to Go before the racing season gets into full swing.

I voted "show"
First thing I did was lower the car, put new wheels on, tinted the windows and blacked out the rear end. Didn't do anything for months, now I am adding an intake and tune (this weekend) followed by exhuast shortly thereafter.
I guess I wanted to make the car unique visually first. Plus there weren't many performance options at first.
Now I am definetly in "go" stage

I'd say I'm a good balance of both, but the stats are going to start shifting more towards the performance end of it. I'm pretty happy with my car visually at this point. It can be argued that some mods are a combo of both, such as exhaust and bigger tires.

I'm pretty much 50/50 too, but am more into the "go" aspect. I am building my 05 for SEMA, so it has to look good and be flashy, but I am also taking care of making it fast. I've installed a Borla cat-back system and a 9psi ProCharger system. I want to tackle handling after SEMA and then it should be finished! Visual mods include an SSE body kit, California Dream hood, blacked out tail panel, sequential taillights, tinted windows, and 19" Forgeline wheels.

Personally, I've discovered that there's a lot of people out there that think this car is all about image. I've been called a show-off several times. But in all honesty, everything I've done to this car was done to make me happy, I'm only trying to appeal to myself.
So far a majority of my mods have been more "show" mods. However, replacing the front subframe and LCA would probably fall more directly under the "go" catergory, as she didn't go anywhere while they were messed up. So I'd probably say mine is a mix of Go, Show, and Oops... definitely not all the same group.

Option C for both would have worked better, however since I was restricted I put show. I plan on getting the windows tinted, webelectrics sequentials and stripes painted first thing.
Since you specified what your first mods will be...
That said, I plan on doing a little of both although it will probably be more show stuff as the go will be pretty much there already with the base Shelby.

Go!! All the way!
I love the way my Stang looks stock and I plan to keep it that way. Every single one of my mods is solely for performance. The only mod that I'd get that would affect appearance is FRPP axle backs.
Oh, I guess I'd get wheels too...but the only reason why I'd get wheels is to accommodate larger tires.

My 1st. mod was tinted windows. I voted show because when I got my car, many of the "go" mods were brand new so I waited to see which would be proven to be the better as time passed, plus I wanted to get used to the feel of the car so I could really tell what difference the mods made. Now, I am all go.

First planned mods are:
4:10's, CAI, complete exhaust system, tune, and future S/C.
Maybe down the road some lighter wheels.
Some visual mods here and there solely for my benefit.

I love the way the car looks already. Believe me, there are tons of people on here that have succeeded in making them look even better, but I feel my money is best spent under the hood for now.
