Can someone tell me the estimated price difference and details between these two plans.
Uncle retired from Ford, thought I would use his X-Plan Pin#, dealer says X-Plan
is not transferable that way. Also, does it really matter as long as you get the plan Pin # ?

Use the forum search option, it will get you all the info you need.

Long and short: AZD Plan is going to be cheaper. How much depends on options. I would say 1000-1500 over X-Plan. My car was 26700 at X, and 25500 at AZD

I believe it does matter. I know my dealer needed proof that my wife worked for a Ford partner to forward on to Ford so they can get their subsidy on the plan

If you have the pin number, they should be all set. Since the pin is registered to your social security number and the person who generated it, there shouldn't be a problem.

It DOES matter the plan is only for eligible Parner Recogition Program employess and their spouses. The dealer will check the Social Security # to be sure you comply. I just read the x-plan rules on the Ford web site that I used to generate my pin. I know the dealer double checked my pin and ID in his dealer computer system, at the closing. Sorry, it is a good plan I saved near 2500 under MSRP.

I have read here where a few people have asked members of the message board if they had an extra plan pin they could use to get a discount when ordering their car, and others have posted back that they would PM those who requested it their pin #, how would this be verified by ford ?

They check your SS# and the company you or your spouse works for. Since they are Ford they can look the PIN# up in the dealer system and see the origin, if the dealer does not check they may not get the rebates back from Ford.

Bottom line the PIN is generated in a form and the first line on the form is asking for the elgible SS# and when the dealer wants to see your ID you're stuck.

What happens at the dealer is that he enters the PIN in his system and it brings up the data that was used to generate the PIN and the dealer has to verify your ID. My dealer took it very serious because they get a lot of money back from Ford to make up selling at a x-plan discount.

FYI, the GM plan is good for FRIENDS and family. They are discounting Goats.

I have already ordered the car, check sig. My uncle retired from Ford last year and I KNOW my dad has used my uncles plan on an expedition and my sister has used it for a focus. I am just a little confused because the dealer asked my over the phone in general conversation what company do I work for that has the plan. I told him it was through my retired uncle, and he said the plan was not transferable. Just curious, but thanks you can keep the goat !!

I personally got the rare N-Plan... as in No-Plan.

My Grandpa retired from Ford, I am getting Z plan. I'm not too sure that the plan is transferable to nephews, in fact I doubt it, but it is transferable to grandchildren, hence the fact that I'm getting Z plan.

Z plan is quite preferable over X plan, which is friends and family. Good luck.

Err, I mean X plan is friends, not family. I think that Z plan applies to "immediate" family, which includes, siblings, mother, father, children, and grandchildren.
